Are SHORT conversations normal? He's made attempts to call me several times from his deployment destination, but the calls last only 3 minutes max...is this normal?

Where my husband is currently deployed too we get 15 minutes on the phone at a time, however that is providing the phones stay connected for a full 15 minutes

in some theatres of operation yes this is normal.. their can be a long line of others waiting to use the few amount of phones or there is only a small available of time to unit itself...

absolutely normal in some cases. just depends on where he is and the availability of a secure connection.

Yes....you have to remember he isn't the only one deployed. Many others need to get into contact with their families.
