There is such a thing as a "self respecting war"?? I never heard of such a thing! Well, whodathunk??

Bah, Humbug, I say..."war" does not necessarily require physical weapons, as any kid can tell you.
The most potent weapons in mankind's arsenal are often words...

In decades past, during wartime (and when isn't there a war being fought somewhere), there was a "ceasefire" during Christmas. Do you think that the war in Iraq will follow this centuries-old tradition?

I didn't know that the "war on drugs" was coming from Mexico...I did, however, have the idea that some of the drugs our kids are dying over might have come from there, or from Columbia...personally, as a Mom and a grandmother, I am involved in the war on drugs. I am also a member of MADD.

I know, I know..."religious nuts" think that Christmas ought to be about the birth of Christ. "Christ's Mass", imagine that!
Yes, I know. The celebration of Christmas goes back for centuries, and involves traditions from all over the world.
Most of the Christian world has chosen that time to express their gratitude to their God for the gift of Jesus Christ...for Whom the holiday is named. Most of these Christians do not in the least mind that other folks also have special days during the same time of year...such as the Jewish Hanukkah, or the African Kwanzaa, or even the Pagan Yule. Most of us welcome these celebrations, and think of Christmas as a time to share with the world, and maybe learn a bit about different ways of worship.
But, sadly, there are those who want to take Christ OUT of Christmas, and make it strictly a "secular holiday"!! They want to call it "Winterfest" or (*grimace*) "giftmas", of all foolish things! They want to deny the Lord, and His Salvation...but they want to keep the feast and the presents...and the vacation from work or school.
According to these selfish folks, every fool who went about with "Merry Christmas" on his lips would be boiled in his own plum pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart.
Maybe you don't see this attitude as "war on Christmas"...but many Christians do. We are sad to hear that our kids can't sing the traditional carols at school any more, it hurts us that we no longer see the Nativity scene displayed any more, we flinch when we hear people complaining that someone actually wished them a "Merry Christmas" instead of the politically correct "Happy Winter Holidays" or whatever it is this year...although it never bothered most of us to be wished a Happy Hanukkah, or Joyful Yule, or whatever. After all, it used to be that when a person wished another joy in the holiday, it was from their heart.
Now, it's just about become "fighting words".

Now, I would have thought that it was too early for the Grinch to come out of his cave...but I see he has awakened early this year...
Poor Max!!

The US, for all it´s faults, had the seeds of it´s greatness in the Protestant version of Christianity. You appear to be developing into a multipluralistic society which respects every ones beliefs and in theory this is to be applauded but it has the deleterious consequence of watering down the very thing that made you great.I personally would hate to see the Asiatics take over by default.

The war on Christmas has been happening for years, centuries even. For many, it has become a day of gifts, and parties, with no mention of, or devotion to Jesus. Much of the war is waged in the media, with the Walmart's and Macy's of the world leading the war against what Christmas is.

There are many being permanently killed and destined to eternity in hell as they pull further from the one real truth. That our Lord Jesus Christ died for us, to redeem us from our sins, and provide salvation and eternity in Heaven.

God bless.

Christmas has been banned before. It's nothing new. Any time any group refuses to allow others rights as human beings. When people lose tolerance and develop prejudices against others. When any group feels it has the right to force their view on an other group..be it Christian, Muslim, Jew or Atheist. Beware of your own prejudices!
