He's the CEO for Murrary Energy Inc. (Utah mine collapse) and instead comforting the families and updating what is going on, he's just defending coal mining and saying it's not his fault... God bless the miners, they deserve better.

but think it's ok for the US to use air support and do not call them cowards? I have nothing but the highest regard for our troops (I served in the Army), I know they did not ask to be sent to that hellhole, but there is some hypocrisy to this reasoning. In warfare, you use what's at your disposal. I agree that the insurgents are cowards for targeting civilians, but that's another story.

I'm under the impression that once my A-school is almost complete I can fill out a "dream sheet" of possible destinations for the naval base or Aircraft carrier I'll be sent to...But the list I have to choose from is only bases where my job is needed..I know AO's are in Iraq and Kuwait right now, if neither of those are on the list can I request to go there?

if we can pull our troops out afterward and the violence doesn't start up again? If the only reason the violence is dropping is because we're there in large numbers to police Iraq, but it's a temporary drop because the insurgents are waiting us out instead of us destroying them for good, how can it possibly work? We won't know until we start leaving - what will we do if the violence picks up again? Another surge?

I know Germany had the panzer division that was pretty impressive, but I was watching this thing on history channel that made that look like little toys in comparison to the US.

My husband is currently deployed, to explain to my 6 yr old why he is gone so long we told her that he fights bad guys to protect our country. My daughter said like a superhero? and we said something like that. Well yesterday my daughter came to me and said "My grandma said that your mom is lying Jerry is not a hero." I was pissed! My best friend was over and she pulled me to the side she said "Brush it off, she is just jealous that her son is a nobody....." I want to brush it off but it still bothers me. Here we are my husband has been deployed since May, miserable over there and this lady tries to poison my childs thoughts because she respects her step-father? I told my daughter what Jerry does, only a few people in this world can do. Jerry is a hero. We can do so much in this country that other countries couldnt imagine doing, thanks to our military. They are fighting to keep the bad guys from coming here. i would say thats a hero.

USA TODAY's Susan Page reports that President Bush is making some headway in arguing that the increase in U.S. troops in Iraq is showing military progress. In the latest USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, taken Friday through Sunday, the proportion of those who said the additional troops are "making the situation better" rose to 31% from 22% a month ago.

I was wondering when you enlist in the Navy as a Corpsman can you get in your contract that you want to go greenside. I have heard that you can go Division which I guess is greenside. Ive been talking to a recruiter and they tell you what you want to hear. So I want to hear it from real corpsman. Ive been thinking about either going reserves or National Call to Service. I really want greeside because I want to be Marine Doc. Also when you do go greenside how do get to go out on patrol because ive known corpsman that were greenside that ran a clinic in Iraq on a marine base. Do you volunteer to be a grunt corpsman or do they put you there. Thank you

The US spent more than 8.2 Billion dollars to arm the trained Iraqi troops and police. part of this sum was spent to provide these troops with more than 185,000 pieces of AK47 original Russian made, 170,000 pistols 9mm.
the issue is that 190,000 pieces CANNOT be located by the US troops...in other words these weapons are lost! not to mention that Iraq was already armed to the teeth with light weapons that was distributed by Saddam's government during the war......WHERE ARE THESE WEAPONS, how can a government system like the US army be so careless....dont they know that the country is already facing a civil war? what about the american people that paid for these weapons?
i am not an american...as a matter of fact i am from the middle east, and i am really surprised that such a mistake happens specially from a country that is a leader in management and organising skills. and it is a FACT that 20% of american troops casualties in Iraq are caused by light weapons?

Aren't both just as bad? I guess it is a bit different for me as my husband and father-in-law are in the Army, and when you know the person in the armed forces, they are more than the fighting force for your country, they are your loved ones, your dad, mom, sister, brother, husband, wife, uncle, aunt, cousin....But why do some make it seem like it's ok when they do die?

I think, these books are called unit history. My grandfather had one about the battles he was in. It mentions the names of the men in that unit, company or regiment that fought in the battles they were in. I believe this type of book was written for those men and their families. I don't think they did it for the other wars. Please help me if you can. I APPRECIATE IT.

I did my Texas DL renewal online, and it will be sent to my GA address, but I want to know if this is the legal thing to do. Should I get a GA DL because I'm a military spouse and our home of record is Texas? I've been married for five years, but the first three we were stationed in Fort Hood, TX, then PCSd to Fort Knox, KY where I never had the need to renew or even ask about this. My DL expires this month, and I want to make sure that military active duty and their dependents are exempted from getting a new DL every time when we PCSd. I hope not because we were in KY for 13 months and for all I know we'll be here in GA for another 13, and I'd hate to pay over and over for new DL's. All answers appreciated. Thanks.

I do belive I am colorblind. How many careers in the USCG are there that do not matter if you are colorblind? For enlisted.

Also is there a career in the USCG that involves driving smaller watercraft? That's what I would like to do. I could not find any on the list for enlisted career options I saw.

Thanks
