Why do some people still support the Iraq War?

They believe all of the lies that the government has told them...like "There are weapons of mass destruction" which Oh NO were NEVER FOUND! Oh and btw to all of you who think that Iraq had something to do with 9/11...hate to break it to you...but they had NOTHING to do with it...you might want to get your facts straight...instead of falling into all of the garbage that the government is telling you.

Imagine yourself as the president. 9/11 happens. Would you sit there and do nothing. NO!!!! Being Americans we want action and retaliation. At the time Iraq was the only one who we could legitimately go after. Something HAD to be done and so our Commander and Chief made a tough a decision to go after Iraq. For a while Americans where for it, but then it was mainstream to be against it. Stupid us. I am an American and a soldier. And trust me maybe their reasons to go to war weren't just but mine were. I WANTED TO PROTECT MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. So if going there and fighting so that my family and friends could live in freedom another day then I will gladly lay down my life so they can do so.

After being in Iraq. It might not be what the news makes it seems. But there are those in Iraq (whether they came from Iran or Afghanistan or another place, but they are in Iraq) who would like to see us DEAD. To see our way of life abolished.

If I can just stop one of those person from accomplishing their mission then that means I might have saved one of my fellow Americans from death by a terrorists.

first of all, some answerers say people who support the war are "too stupid", and perhaps that is their own stupidity shining through. People support the war for the troops! The men and women who are in harms way everyday. Insult people all you want, but you being ignorant does not change anything.
And lucky for all of you that these "dumbasses" support those warriors who protect your freedom to talk crap.

The only people who give a damn about this war are the ones who still have loved ones fighting in a war zone. They are mothers, fathers, siblings, sons, and daughters of proud AMERICANS. Maybe those who dont support the war should support those who do.

For the same reaon that they aren't okay with what happened on Sept 11. If we weren't in there, they would be over here. Personally I think we're going much too soft on them after what they did. Everyone else that attacked us in the past got it much harder.

3)they are too proud to admit that they made a mistake
4)they are too insecure
