Apparently it was a missile. My guess is that they were testing it and it went (badly) off course.

It was not a bomb but a missile, and it has yet to be proved Russia did anything, the Georgians might be trying to sucker the west into a confrontation with Russia to back their (Georgia's) claims for Independence.

I am guessing quality control is not as good as it used to be. Back in the day, they used to make bombs that WORKED.

well they were dropping normal bomb. it happen to malfunction and thus it was unexploded.
