He's the CEO for Murrary Energy Inc. (Utah mine collapse) and instead comforting the families and updating what is going on, he's just defending coal mining and saying it's not his fault... God bless the miners, they deserve better.

Thank goodness for the United Mine Workers union...at least they are there doing something even though it's not a union mine.

Why are they mining in a national forest? They mine where the coal is. I guess hundreds of thousands of years ago, when the coal was formed, someone didn't tell them there was going to be a national forest there. I'd bet that the power you use to run your computer is coal generated. Do you think that your electricity just comes from the switch on the wall and your gasoline just comes from the pump? Probably.

This was a live news conference where the CEO was speaking. It doesn't matter where you saw it; all networks broadcasting it live have the exact same thing. So those of you who are saying it was incorrect because it was on Fox News are wrong.

I agree with bytchy_princess; he's trying to cover the company's butt. I heard him say a few minutes ago (on CNN, by the way) that the earthquake caused the mine collapse. If it were the other way around, his company would be liable. And what makes him such an expert that he knows the exact cause this soon?

At most preplanned news conferences, only one news network provides the video and audio; all the other networks receive the live feed from them. This is their way of saving money. That's why the picture has the same angle on every network.

He does seem like a pompous ***, but at least he worked in the mines for years and is not some degreed know it all who is only there to give double talk. By the way, nowadays unions are unneeded. They workers money, offer you the world but give you nothing, and basically have a stranglehold on the companies they have workers in. They are there to protect the lazy man, plain and simple. They were needed at one time, but no longer.

The miners lives and safety is more important than the profit of Murray Energy Inc. But you never get that point over to the minions of the RNC news on Fox.

Amen! That guy was just on my last nerve. That and he seemed like he was half full of crap and his tone an body language never changed so to say he is a straight face liar when he wants to be.

Anyway yes he seemed to worried about everything else but people dieing. Also he was like it will take 3 days to drill. I was like damn man be optimistic will ya. Just because it takes you three days does n''t mean it will take rescue workers with OTHER motivations that long.

He's on CNN right now, too. He's a nut case. I don't know why he's ranting like this. (I don't believe anything I see on FOX NOISE.)

edit: OMG he just told the Sheriff to shut his men up , saying "there's not an emergency here".

FOX News is a joke. I prefer open-ended discussions rather than brainwashing tv-shows labeled as "news."

The UMWA is nothing more then a terrorist organization. They attempt to use heavy handed tactics to further thier own means.

Labor unions should be illegal. They do not serve anyone but themselves, and are against the ideals of a free market and free business practices.

Yes, I do believe it. CEO's tend to be very self centered and inconsiderate of others.
