How long is reception week at before basic training? I'm thinking of joining the National Guard now because of school. I heard from other people that reception week can last anywhere from the moment you arrive to several weeks because of the backup. I know what I would want to do and that is Infantry so which means I'll most likely end up in Fort Benning. I figured about doing BCT and AIT and then coming back in time for college around the first week of September. Is there any possible way to know? I'm guessing I would just get back to school whenever I finish AIT?

I am a veteran with over 17 years of military service under my belt, but didn't get a chance to retire. I am a 30 percent disabled veteran working at a military installation but not authorized to shop at the base exchange or commissary. As a 30 percent disabled vet, am I entitled to those privileges as well as an veterans ID card?

I believe they are trained to be more arrogant and self-righteous. That is what makes them want to fight for their reputation. The army i believe fights more for their buddies and themselves... lives in general. Both sides fight for the freedom of innocent American lives, but do the personalities differ because of the training in basic training?

He was a soldier from my high school. I didn't know him real well but did know him and my little sister played softball with his little sister... It's sad and our memorial at the school, really starts to get to you when one of our own gets added... God Bless the family..

Northern Ireland is part of Great Britain... but what about the South?

Seriously, Ireland doesn't even have an army, all they are known for is the IRA. Great, so Ireland gives us Terrorists... they don't even hae an army...

Why didn't we just invade them, and make the south a part of the UK?

Ireland seems useless.
