thought astronauts are suppose to be first jet pilots

Army does have pilots, where you been? Visit the Ft. Rucker website. And Redstone Arsonal website.

They can be any pilot. Army Astronauts have been up on the shuttle a few times now.

Are there any Coast Guard Astronauts yet? What about CIA Astronauts, do they count or not? What do you know about Boy Scout astronauts? Any Brownies floating around up there yet?
