It is not fighting a war it is learning how not to fight a war. See SunTzu part of question. Environmentalists are often ineffective in campaigning against issues.

Look at Heathrow and all that mess. That runway is just greed. Preventing human destruction/interference in the environment needs skills, knowledge and an understanding of how the 'enemy' will act and react.

Think 'Swampy' help me by telling me how they could have been more successful in there campaign?

Yes. But let me give a practical, real world example. There's a beach in Southern California that has been used by the Marines as part of a training area for many decades. It's called Las Pulgas Beach and it lies within Camp Pendleton, California. In the 1970s a fellow who worked for the State of California as a wildlife service specialist decided to do something unique. He was a retired Marine and he got the Marines to allow him to build nest areas for the California Tern in that beach area. The Marines also agreed to make the nesting areas "off limits" to military exercises. The result was that this former Marine almost single-handedly saved the California Tern from extinction. He was given a medal for his efforts by Governor Reagan of California.

Environmentalism is not really about how to fight a war, it is about learning to live on the only earth we are ever going to have without destroying it.
