If things are improved, people expect "change course".
If things are worsen, people expect "change course" too.
If things stay the same, people still expect "change course".

If no matter what, Bush decides to maintain the surge level, then he doesn't need to wait till September. He just needs to remember the military is already stretched too thin and pretty soon his daughters need to go there too.

So why would September report ever be a turning point? Why wait till then? No logic behind that.

What do you feel we should do in the war on terror in Afghanistan and Iraq?
1.Keep fighting until we are victorious in crushing the enemy and stabilizing the new governments.
2.Admit our defeat to an unbeatatble enemy and pull our troops out now.

I just got a PRC-25 radio that was used in Vietnam. I have been watching a couple of Vietnam War and in most of them, the PRC-25 radio handset has some kind of material rapped around it (probably to keep water out). Does anyone know what thay material is and wear I can get it?

P.S. I mostly saw this in the film Platoon (1986). Many of the RTO's like Tony Hoyt and Cpt. Harris's RTO have this material wraped around their handset.

-thank u

I already have 69 by next semester, (Associates Degree).

How many would I have during my time in the Air Force, not counting classes I would take.

What I mean is credits for boot camp or anything of that sort.

My recruiter has 57 or so, and he never took a single class in college.

The reason I am asking is because I want get a degree in order to be in line for the officer program.

Can I do this within the first 3 years or so?

I'm planning on marrying someone who has decided to enlist in the Navy. The recruiter said we shouldn't marry until after bootcamp. I did some research and there is no leave after bootcamp, but they do get liberty graduation weekend. Would we be allowed to elope then at the local courthouse? Would he get in trouble? Would more paperwork be needed?

America dropped "Little Boy" the atomic bomb on 6th August 1945 on Hiroshima and brought Japan to its knees. After seeing massive destruction and loss of human life what perverted thinking made America drop another bomb "Fat Man" that too 3 days after the first one i.e. on 9th August 1945 on Nagasaki. The required effect was achieved by the first bomb. What did the Americans achieve by this second bombing? Except another massive destruction and huge loss of human lives. Or was it a signal to the world.? Mind you America is the only country which has used a Nuclear bomb against its enemy. Could any body enlighten me?

Hi, my fiance is enlisting in the United States Navy. We want to get married before he leaves for bootcamp. The recruiter said that we should wait until afterwards to avoid the dependency waiver? What is this? What do they look at? Also, I read someplace if you are married they do a financial eligibility determination and examine your credit. Would my credit also be examined with his? Would they do a background check on me? Any advice and tips on when we should marry and what all the steps involved are, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :-)

Why are the protesters and non-supporters saying that over 3000 deaths from this war and that it was such a mistake because of all the deaths of our troops, but in WW2 there was over 6000 and people seem to honor that war ? War is war, and is so sad that anyone has to perish, but its war it comes with it. I don't understand this ? I am not saying this war is good or anything, of course in a perfect world there wouldn't be wars but we don't live in a perfect world. Why can't we all just honor the ones fighting, at home and the ones that died. I think that of course when things get ugly people want to change their minds and do something else but nothing would ever be completed if we all did that.

During the 20 years prior to this war, the dominant countries seemed to be destined for conflict. Because of imperialism and extreme cases of nationalism, many historians believe this war was actually desired by many countries. What do you think the various countries had to gain from fighting in this war? In addition, do you think these countries failed to consider this new type of warfare? Consider various countries (Germany, Austria-Hungary, USA, Great Britain, France) when typing your answer.
