I am quite sure they know it is me, as there are only 4 people in my station and I am not liked by our 1SG.

The comments were not bad, they just explain that he is threatening soldier with disciplinary action for not making mission.

So "Mission" being Recruiting termonology meaning 2 contracts a month. Sorry for not being clear.

No you won't get in trouble with the 1SG. During both my tours as a 1SG I made sure that I only saw the consolidated results and not any particular form or comments.

However I still played the game of predicting how many people were going to make negative comments about me. And I was right most of the time.

BTW - the only way you can tell if you are 'liked' by a senior NCO is wait until after they retire. The troops I was hardest on were the ones I felt had the most potential.

I dont understand why you would want to report someone for taking action when someone misses what you called a "mission." In my world, thats called "Failure to Report" or "AWOL-"

Article 86—Absence without leave
Text.

“Any member of the armed forces who, without authority—

(1) fails to go to his appointed place of duty at the time prescribed;

(2) goes from that place; or

(3) absents himself or remains absent from his unit, organization, or place of duty at which he is required to be at the time prescribed; shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

Elements.

(1) Failure to go to appointed place of duty.

(a) That a certain authority appointed a certain time and place of duty for the accused;

(b) That the accused knew of that time and place; and

(c) That the accused, without authority, failed to go to the appointed place of duty at the time prescribed.

Now in that, I did notice you said "threatening" (sp?) Anyways, I am an NCO and I will use the leverage of UCMJ action to try and "last chance" a soldier into squaring up and paratrooping like he should. Yet all things considered, its never the same- down here on the line we do things different than the "others" or "REMF's" or so I've seen.

BUT- you cannot be punished. UNLESS you make false statements. Which would only be found out IF whatever was written causes the unit to initiate an investigation into "the matter" i.e. depending on how you worded the text around "threatening." So as long as everything is honest, to the point, should be no problems-- and if there are, two fateful initials will fix it............... I.G.

No offence, but soldiers who say their 1SG or Squad Leader dont 'like' them, have usually done something wrong and feel that they were picked on because they were 'busted' for it.

To answer the question, no you can not be held liable for negative comments made, however to be fair, you should be accurate and not use 'opinions' to make a judgement.
