whatever the Funeral dictates. if you are part of the 21 gun Salute or Flag bearer, you must be in whatever the Uniform of the Day is. If you are just a mourner, either one will be appropriate, as the Cracker Jacks are always allowed.

I would wear summer dress whites. However, the service dress blue uniform can be worn year round, so it could be worn as well. I am assuming you are attending a funeral for a friend or family member and not part of an Honor Guard. If you are going with a group of several people I would all wear the same uniform.

I can't add much to what's already been said. When I was in the navy Dress Blues were the uniform of the day From November Till April Inclusive. I know it was against rocks & sholes to wear Blues in may. I cant imagine anyone wanting to wear navy Blue wool in the summer. Check for the uniform of the day, It will save you from an artical 15.

Summer whites!
Cracker Jacks would be too hot this time of year in VA.
Unless you're part of a Detail then go with the proscribed uniform of the day.
