Since the Louisiana Purchase, Mexico has been our enemy or harbored enemies in every major war I am aware of. WW1, WW2, Spanish-American, and Mexican war. Are they now an ally, or just a semi-hostile neighbor?

I think it would be a good idea, in my day we had an eight year obligation, either volunteer or be drafted, it taught a lot of people good morals and to be respectful of others and the meaning of discipline some of the things missing in a lot of todays youth.

By aid helicopters I mean helicopters that fly with food and supplies. Humanitarian mission helicopters might be a better term.

Is it even possible? One needs somewhat "intelligent" soldiers...not robots who are the same as the sucide bombers.

"I apologize for what they went through." - President Bush, after visiting Walter Reed Medical Center one month after reports surfaced of failed leadership and horrific mistreatment of veterans.
Sometimes, Mr. President, apologies just aren't enough.
According to the Independent Review Panel's recently released report on conditions at Walter Reed, soldiers were blatantly being shortchanged and denied the proper treatment they deserved. The report revealed a "virtually incomprehensible" failure of leadership and an "almost palpable disdain" on behalf of the staff to properly treat outpatients.
It was also disclosed that the problems faced by our wounded soldiers extend to veteran's hospitals across the country. This is no way to support our troops.
Since President Bush misled us into the war in Iraq in 2003, the number of veterans coming into the VA heath care system has risen by about 5% a year. Yet in that same time, a Republican-led Congress ignored the growing problems - just like they ignored the deteriorating situation in Iraq.

Do they employ civilian scientists? I saw the missile that they used in Afghanistan. It penetrates the tunnel of a cave. Then explodes after a while. It would destroy terrorist hideouts like nothing else. That was a cool weapon.

Is it too late to sign up for ROTC your junior year of college? If not, can I still graduate as a Second Lieutenent?

Also, do I attend bootcamp after I graduate from college and the ROTC program, or do I even have to go to bootcamp?

Last thing, which ROTC branch do you think is the best? Explain.

my boyfriend and i have been together for one year. he's 21 and im 20. im going to university and he is working for his dad's business. he's been saying he wants to to go the army for a few months but he never fully went through with it. i told him if he went that i wouldn't stay with him b/c it would be too hard. we wouldn't even be with each other, and i would worry he was going to die everyday and get mentally/physically hurt. i told him i would do anything for him. he ended up going behind my back and signing up. i love him with all of my heart and i know he wants to do this, but i don't think its fair to me to wait for the next 4 years. i put him before everything, and i feel like he put what he wanted over me. in a month he's leaving for bootcamp anyways. the last few days we broke up he didn't call, and i went over to his house yesterday and he said he will understand my decision, but he really wants me to try b/c he loves me. I don't feel like he really cares if we break up.

Is Dubya hoping for another "Paris Peace Accords" to end his "Vietnam War"? I agree with Reid, the military win in Iraq is lost. Political scientists and historians are already crediting Bush with messing up from the beginning. He will go down in history as a reckless warmonger. He wanted this war and used anything he could to make it happen. Why does he insist on sacrificing our soldiers to save face?
