Right now, the Active Army is the fastest promoting service. But it also depends on your MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). If you choose an MOS that is in desperate need of people, you're likely to get promoted fast. If you choose a very common MOS, you might be waiting several years.
Lower-enlisted Army ranks (E1 through E4) are all automatic. But you also have the ability to join as any one of those ranks. A college degree could help you join as an E4. Without college, you could help recruit others, or learn about the Army before signing your contract, and join as an E3. No effort and no education will get you in as an E1.
If you join as an E1, six months in, you'll be an E2. Six months after that, you'll be an E3. And at your two-year mark, you'll become an E4. That also assumes you don't get any waivers to get promoted sooner. Some of these require more time in service, than they do time in the previous rank. For example, you only have to be an E3 for six months before you become E4, but you have to be in the Army for 24 months. For most pople, that means you'll be an E3 for a year before you become E4.
Beyond that, E5 and up will depend more on performance, and that previously-mentioned MOS need, than time in service. These are considered NCO's (Non-Commisioned Officers), and soldiers in those ranks are held to much higher standards than the lower-enlisted.
Army National Guard usually follows the same time line for lower-enlisted. But its easier to come in with a higher rank (E3 is very common), and harder to get promoted as an NCO. Same applies to the Army Reserve.

Being in the Air Force (71-75) I thought it would be the fastest for promoting, but I think that it isn't the branch, but how good you do on test scores, and probably the type of work you do. One thing I am glad about was not having to crawl on the ground, waiting to suddenly hear gun fire. That could, if shot would stop promotion real quick. I was going to go into the Navy, but after having heard about people sleeping above & below you, I'm glad I didn't. I had a room which I shared with another guy. If I were you, I wouldn't concentrate which promotes the fastest, because how good you do depends on how fast you get promoted. Just keep in mind how good things are while you are in, and how best to do your job and stay alive.

The Army promotes the fastest. The Air force is generally the slowest.
for enlisted, in the army the first 3 promotions come at 6 month intervals for the most part. After which you have to go to a board to get your E-5 and higher, but it is pretty simple.
The Air force requires a test for every promotion. Never taking one myself I couldn't tell you how hard they are. I can tell you that airmen that have been in the military as long as I have, were 2 paygrades lower than I was

The rate of frequency of your promotion depends on YOU. Education, training, and competition is the best ways for a promotion. I would really hate to think you'd join the branch that promotes the quickest. Are you in it just for a title??? If so, then you're going for the wrong reason.
Join the branch which offers what you are seeking (other than rapid promotion).

I would say the Army National Guard Adjutant General Company. Within 9 months (before graduating High School), I was an E-3 (Private First Class). A year later, a Specialist. And a year after that, a 2nd Lieutenant.

It dependes if you are going in as an enlisted soldier or an officer. I am an army officer and have been in 5 years and made Captain (O3). If I were an NCO I would be an Staff Sergeant (E6) right now. I can't really speak for the other branches of service but that is how the army is.

I consider you could be larger geared up into the air drive. If you do, i could inform you to be a pilot, that manner you'll be as almost battle as you'll. But recall its your alternative, taking any activity within the milatary is colossal and existence replacing. I advocate you to do extra reaserching on jobs and the one of a kind execs and cons of each and every department.

Generally, the rules are pretty much the same for time in rate and practical factors completed.
The Army is probably a bit faster right now simply because the list of qualified candidates is getting lower as the death toll increases.

question can't be answered it is too vague and general.. the fact is, 'choose your rate, choose your fate' is a saying in the Navy. some jobs promote very fast, others, somebody has to die before you can advance. and even this changes from cycle to cycle and based on the needs of the miltary.
