It can be administered at any time, by reglation. Even during the week, between IDT weekends or AT periods. It is required in a ARNG status to be taken and passed once a year. It doesn't specify when, but most units attempt to get the bigest return by doing it on IDT or AT periods. Historically, it has been given at time that it can be given to the entire oranization. But if you are ready to take it, contact your unit and arrange to have someone from the unit proctor the APFT. If they are unwilling to do it, then that unit is lacking. All units should be there for the soldier...

FM 21-20 is the Army APFT manual. The answer is yes to the question of administering the test during annual training unless the Commander decides a soldier is unfit to do the test at that time. If medical conditions exist then the test can be modified or postponed all together. Soldiers are required to take the PT Test annualy and before going to any military schools. PLDC and the like. If it is still the same way. Soldiers must remember that it is their responsibility to be prepared for the PT Test.

It can be administered at annual training...I don't knwo the reference but I remember taking it at annual training a couple of times...

Yeah, it can be at AT or at Drill.
