After watching the News and seeing a big pile of blown up Hummvees it took me back to my first ride in one back in 93 in Somalia the thing broke down 5 miles out of the compound we had to sit in all round defence for a hour and a half waiting for a recker to drag it back. To me it was over the top it's like the Yanks have to shout everywhere they go, what was wrong with the Mutt or our Land rover every US troop we had loved driving our Lany's....

I've thought of joining a branch in or right after High School in a reserve spot then go to college and join a ROTC program. The join actvice duty when i have a degree.

Ok, friends son currently in the Marines, they are in France now on some type of boat for training, (this is his third tour during Iraq). His grandmother died this past Monday nite, the funeral was yesterday, Wednesday. HE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO COME HOME TO THE FUNERAL ?!?!
He did raise holy **** over there was demoted a rank also for his actions.
Who do I need to contact about the sorriness of the US Military in this situation?
Do you agree this was inappropriate ?

they have been at each others throats for thousands of years, what makes us think they're gonna stop now? just cuz we don't want terrorism? these people are figting for religion. never get between extremists and their religion, they'll just blow themselves up and take you with them.

Are Special Forces in any or all the branches of the military only for men? Not that I'm thinking about it...just trying to distinguish the myths from truth as far as the military goes.

I've always had a yearning to join the military but since I got accepted into college it has waned. I had cool jobs in my field and with good money (which has delayed me completing school); I'm not unhappy, but I'm also not satisfied. My desire for joining the military has increased and I have googled for more info. I realize I'm to late for ROTC, but I don't want to join as an E-1.

So what options are available to me? Can I ROTC for medical school and join as Medical Officer (I know this will take a long time)? Also any advice in the differences between the Army, Airforce, Navy officer experience is helpful as well. Thanks for reading!

So, I am active duty US Army and lately have been wondering about where Irans real intentions lie. I am begining to think our government it trying to hype up a situation that really isn't even there. Yes, there are some complications with the whole nuclear power/enrichment thing, but what is really going to happen next. Bush continues to piss of Iran, Venzuela, and a handful of other countries instead of trying to take the more diplomatic route.

Than with the military creating the new African Command, I wonder are we going to try to wage war on the African front. And if we do go to Africa will it be more on a peacekeeping mission. Many African countries are far advanced in guerilla tactics and I think a peacekeeping mission would turn into a war and than again we would have gone in under good intentions, but turned it into the U.S. putting there hands in another cookie jar that we didn't need to be in.

Finally I wonder, what happens after Bush?
