It's a bit of a technicality.
The US Marine Corps has 105 general officers.
The US Marine Corps is a part of the Department of the Navy.
The Navy also has a Judge Advocate General
So one could argue that there are 106 Generals in the Navy, but if you said that near Quantico or Paris Island, you might get in a fight.

Navy flag officers are called Admirals. However, if you want to get technical, the Marine Corps which falls under Department of the Navy has Generals.

The Navy has Admirals, not Generals and your answer is :
Way too many!
Never in History has a military been as top heavy and bloated as now. There are more General Officers now than at the height of World War II. At that time 14,000,000 men were in the service. We have General Officers doing jobs that were once done by enlisted personnel

Yes it is true. Equivalent ranks in the navy are that of Admiral, of which there are four. Three admirals made it to five stars during WWII, they were Nimitz, Clark, and Halsey. These were the last naval officers to make this rank.
