Source: Day in and day out the Marines are getting hurt by rag tag insurgents with basic weapons. How can that be? We are the most powerful.

Hi. This will be our first over seas tour and I'm a little concerned about the housing situation. My husband's Sponsor is not married so I cant talk to his wife and his Senior Chief wont talk to me. One of my questions is... What is the housing like? What is the waiting list like? what is the base like? is it easy to get a job there? What are the average costs for daycare? What are the schools like
( elementary school that is ) and really any thing else you have to offer about quality of life and general living standards. Thanks so much, and I'll see you in a month.

I actually got an high school diploma that’s nationally accredited by some national school board cant remember at the moment. But I was looking at the various military websites and most of them say to become a pilot you have to be an officer how do you do that?

I work across the street from the only recruiting station for 20+ miles. In my county, there are three cities with populations over 20,000. Two have recruiting stations. The third doesn't. The one that doesn't is mostly white and has an income significantly about the national average. The ones that do are over 50% minorities and high poverty rates. Obviously I see a lot of poor minorities walking into this place. You could go 1-2 miles beyond the city limits and find yourself back in white upper middle class suburbia.
Keep in mind its the only place around to enlist... Why do I see so few middle class whites? Why do I see the recruiters at the shopping center with the dollar store and laundromat, not out at the mall with Abercrombie?

I phrased that really bad, but basically should captured militia/terrorists in Iraq be protected by the rules of war? or can we interrogate the crap out of them?

I know it is not for everyone, but if people did not volunteer we would have a mandatory conscription like most European countries.
Futhermore, what is so Wrong about serving your nation and contributing to the country that gives you so much.
I am not talking about Politics or the War either its not about that.
I know even when I have the worst day ever I still believe that joining the Military was the best decision I have ever made.

Well,

I'm going to join the United States Air Force, and I would like people's opinion as to whether you think it's a good idea to join after I graduate high school in May, or go to college first.

everyone in my family wants me to go to college first, but I really really want to enlist after high school. but, i don't want to piss them off, and I want to make everyone happy..

I'm 17 years old now, still in high school (junior). I can't get an ROTC scholarship in college because I was depressed last year, and I cut myself. I'm not on medication anymore, but the military says that it is an automatic DQ for self-injury/attempted suicide. I'm mentally and emotionally stable now, but they won't care. What's done is done, thus there seems to be no legal way for me to get into the military from now on. I still want to become a soldier, so is there any legitimate mercenary agency that will hire me, despite my dark past? (And NO, I'm not some kid who thinks that war is cool from playing Counter Strike every day)

I want to become a pharmacist and am considering the military strongly. I thought I read that they enter at the rank of an 0-3, is that true? Could anyone also give me a predicted career path (such as scope of responsibility and time to advance in rank). Also, could anyone tell me about any scholarships that the military would provide, and what are the largest military pharmacies (for each branch). Thanks for all that answer.
