I heard you get free health and dental insurance?

Medical is always free. We pay about $9/month for my dental insurance premium, and I don't pay a co-pay for a regular cleaning. I have yet to need any other work done, but I have heard that the coverage isn't that great and out-of-pocket expenses can get pretty high.

As long as your husband has it set up where you have access to the account his pay is deposited into, you will have access to all the money he makes. He'll make more while he's deployed, and there is no federal tax taken out.

You can also remain in military housing (or keep drawing housing allowance to live off-post). You also get to use the commissary and PX.

Of course, God forbid something happens to your soldier, he has $400,000 in life insurance while deployed to a combat zone. If you are designated as his beneficiary, you would get that along with other death gratuities and pay.

Basically you get all the benefits you would get when he's not deployed. Some posts also have other benefits for spouses of deployed soldiers - free membership to the post gym, reduced or free child care, more MWR activities to keep you busy, etc. That just depends on where you are.

Whether he is in Iraq or not, you get the health and dental insurance. For dental, for me, it is only $10 a month.

He gets extra pay on top of his regular base pay. It is not too much...my husband is E-3 and he doesn't get more than $1,000 extra while deployed.

Free health, regardless if he is deployed, as long as you are married. My husband is in the Marine Corps and dental kind of sucks. We pay about $27/month for the family and have co-payments. I am not sure how the army is. He would receive separation pay while he's deployed plus all his extra pay, hazardous duty and what not, but he gets that regardless if he is married.

you are entitled to Health and Dental regardless of your husband's deployment. all Active Duty Personell's dependants qualify for Medical(no cost monthly, fees may be involved depending on the level of Tricare you choose), Dental( monthly fee plus a co pay), access to base facilities such as MWR, Commissaryu and Exchange.

Your spouse wopuld get paid Family sep if he is deployed away from home for more than 30 days( regardless of where). Tax free pay and HFP/IDP go into effect if he is deployed to a designated zone.

If he's active duty you get health and dental simply by virtue of him being in the army. If he's deployed you get separation pay.

you would get army housing, free medical coverage, POSSIBLY a free college education (it depends where you are, only a few posts offer it, one of them being ft riley). but dental coverage is not free unless you are overseas, like in Germany and maybe a few posts, but not many offer it in the states. but otherwise you have dental insurance but your hubby pays a monthly fee for it (the costs depends on rank but its not much at all), the dental coverage covers some things, but for most you have to pay part of the cost. your hubby gets a lot of extra pay for being over there.
