You can get into the military with a GED, but to be a pilot, you will have to work as something else, like maybe a mechanic. While you are working the military will pay for most if not all of your school and you can get a degree or you can apply to go to the academy, but to be a pilot you have to be an officer or a warrant officer. Warrant officer does not require a degree, but will require a lot of time in the military. So direct answer, no, indirect answer, yes.

Actually no. You do have to be an officer. And after the Vietnam war the rules were changed, so now in order to be a comissioned officer you must have a college degree. You can enlist, go to college paid by the military, become an officer and then go to pilot school.

No you can't. Pilots are required to be officers, and must have College Degrees. In the Army, warrant officers can be helicopter pilots, but you must be an enlisted member for at least 5 years, they prefer at least 2 years of college credits, and you have to be selected and interviewed first. You wanna be an officer, get a bachelors degree, wanna fly helicopters in the Army, sign up, do a few years, get education while in, then apply for warrant officer.

You have to have a college degree to be any kind of Navy pilot. You also have to have your degree to be an Officer. So to be a pilot or an officer, go to college for 4+ years, get your BA or BS degree, then apply for an officers program in the Navy.

It is possible you could get into fling wing aviation but very very unlikely. College is the key in the military now, E-6 almost requires a BS or BA degree, or a lot of tenure in the service. Schooling is possible while serving, but that is hard to do as well.

There are two classes of commissioned officers. Those who are commissioned by the president. They range from 2nd lieutenant to generals. Then there are warrant officers who are commissioned by congress. In order to fly helicopters you would have to be a warrant officer.A warrant officer is one who is highly trained in a specific field. In this case you would like to be a helicopter pilot and would have to be a warrant officer.Just to be sure go back to a military web site and ask them about becoming a warrant officer.

Every pilot I know of is an Officer, so you can join as enlisted and then go to OCS or just go to college and then become an officer. If you end up doing it, make us proud.
