I found them amongst my grandfathers old paperwork..I want to find the family on my own but dont know where to start help me! This would be a great treasure for a family to have them! He must have been a friend of my Grandfathers! What can I do???

It was just in December of 2006 that they released their report on the situation in Iraq and gave policy recommendations. It seems to have completely been ignored by war supporters and anti-war supporters. Is anyone in politics still talking about this, or trying to get more attention on the report?

I'm not endorsing or denouncing this report, I was just wondering.

This IS NOT my opinion- I'd like to point this out from the start.

A friend of mine has stated that the Army and Royal Marines lead a much harder life than their contemporaries in the Navy and RAF after basic training.

To what extent is this true?

I would like to hear from personnal in all branches of the UK armed forces as well as the opinions of those serving in foreign forces.

he passed away 11/2/05 and i was on active duty (navy) i need to get a transfer to my home town or a discharge to take care of my mother. she has become and alcoholic, and while ive been home on leave for the past 10 days she has had thoughts of suicide. this bothers me alot if any one has any information please help me. thanks -mike

As a follow-up to do soldier's die for oil. I want to know why individual people have chosen to serve in the military.

I serve because I believe in the values my country stands for, I believe I can save lives in the medical corps.

I hear that they extended the period of time of Deployments.They were usualy 6 monthes long now theyre 9 monthes long.Now is that for Are the military branches or what?.My hubby leaves in April to Iraq ....he is suppose to get back in November,not sure if he will be extended though?:(

Here are a number of articles that detail the deplorable lack of treatment and support for our troops that are returning from the wars in the ME, severely injured, both physically and mentally. With all the trillions being spent to fight these ******* wars, there is NO excuse for our soldiers being provided ANYTHING LESS than excellent medical care, support, and full benefits upon their return.

I know a guy who was in the Army during the early 2000s. He's no longer in the Army. He claims that he left the Army by choice. But I get the feeling that he was kicked out. Is it possible for a soldier to get kicked out of the Army or the other armed forces?

If so, what reasons are there for kicking someone out of the military?
