Whether it is wrong or right is besides the point now. What is wrong is so many people bashing the war, when our young men and women are there risking their lives because of it. Lets get past our own feelings and support our troops. They deserve to be respected and supported regardless. They didn't have a choice, they HAVE to be there, and most of them consider it a real honor to be there to fight for our country.

Many forget that this war was started after repeated warnings by the UN council . The UN gave a deadline to Iraq to allow weapons inspectors & all Iraq had to do was to allow them to look if there were no weapons. Instead they moved weapons, it is believed to Syria or Iran & the US was forced to invade.
This idea that the US sat over here & one day said "let's invade Iraq" is beyond dumb. Saddam murdered & raped low end figures are 1 million people & go over 2-1/2 million people.
Were they not worth the war? To stop Saddam's killings. Democracy has been allowed to grow - they had their 1st free election thanks to the ally forces. What does it take for some American's to believe we should defend a weaker people from tyranny & terrorist. Both Congress & the House approved the war, the American people gave the President his highest approval ratings - then the war does not end on the time table some people want & suddenly a small group made this bad choice. Most of us were all in favor of the choice at the time, but lie to ourselves now to blame others. I am the mother of a US Army Officer & I stand behind our military & President 100%.

I think it is right, and I hope you will have an open mind to facts.First of all,President Clinton said that Iraq had WMD's and this was why he bombed Iraq years ago.
http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1998/12/16/transcripts/clinton.html
Saddam violated the resolution for years and refused to let weapons inspectors to come in,and then only after he delayed and delayed their entry.
Then after we were attacked on 911,President Bush said he was going after the terrorists and those who harbored and financed them. Our troops found documents proving that Saddam not only gave Al Queda money but also supplied training camps for them.
With that aside,Saddam was notorious for torturing children whose parents disagreed with Saddam's politics. He killed hundreds of thousands of his own people which our soldiers found.
No one can make you feel that the war is right except for yourself.I supported it then, and now.Its amazing,if you check the votes from the Congress and Senate and the ones that voted for the war have all of a sudden turned tail and are backing out of their decision. At least the President has been consistent with his convictions and I commend him for it.

War is never "right". It is simply a necessary evil. We Americans go about it in the most humane and efficient way possible, (which is probably why we're having so much trouble securing Iraq) even going as far as to treat wounded enemies after having fought them on the battlefield.
Unfortunately, modern philosophies have weakened our desire to act. We sit at home complacently, imagining that the world is as calm and as humane as our own living room, refusing to believe that there are people evil enough to kill innocent men, women, and children in the name of their religion.
There comes a time when we have to accept the grizzly realities of war and do what, while in the short term may have terrible consequences, will ultimately lead to greater security not only for the U.S. but for the entire world. There is no question that the world is better off without Saddam Hussein in power. The problem is we Americans have short memories, a naive sense of reality born of ignorance and liberalism, and a complete lack of patience.
Saddam was committing genocide against curds, developing nuclear weapons, and nurturing terrorism. He defied one U.N. resolution after another, demonstrating his ill will towards the international community. He was a threat to his own country, his neighbors, and the world. He was a cancer that prevented his people from experiencing true freedom and prosperity. Case closed.
Not only was the War in Iraq right, it was necessary. One day history WILL vindicate George Bush, either as a sage who's prophetic warnings went ridiculed and ignored, or as the champion of the west who had the courage to confront evil in our time and chose to martyr himself politically to save his country from destruction.

What is 'wrong' about giving 23 million people hope for a better future?
Remember that the Iraqi people voted for democracy - what gives you the right to deny them this?
Do you really want to leave the Iraqi people to be ruled by the terrorists?

read the past answers. Many have covered this in detail.
In summary, the facts show it to be a misguided war, with faulty intel to begin with, faulty plans where Pres ignored all his generals and simply replaced them.
No WMD's and the fact that we took a wrong turn heading to Afgan when we had a chance to get Bin Laden who was responsible
And I have 3100 deaths, with more to come, that will keep dying in the streets of IRAQ for a plan that was doomed to begin with.
How many people have spoken up against bushes plans?
how many did he ignore?
and he stands there and argues hes chief...well anyone that follows his words can see hes full of sh*t
If theres an afterlife and we come across eachother bush, Im kicking your a**
