What will happen if we are attacked in the U.S. if we
then have a Democrat Commander In Chief? What
course of action would the President take (if any)?

We will be doomed. They will "talk" to the people they think attacked us, then probably like the next day we will get attacked again because people will know that we won't do anything serious to protect ourselves. Just Talk.

Realistically, the "Commander-in-Chief" doesn't do much. In the absence of specific orders, the Generals can and will do whatever they believe is necessary to respond to an attack. The only thing requiring direct Presidential authorization is the use of nuclear weapons, and if things have gotten to that point political party is pretty much irrelevant.

The president is not our commander in chief. He is the commander in chief only of the Armed Forces. The highest authority in the United States is not the president. It is We the People.

Consider this: It won't make much difference as there are people hired by the government, no matter who is in power to know certain things and make decisions and recommendations. People can, for example, criticize how Bush was taken away on 9/11 but it would have been exactly the same if Gore had been president.

I think FDR had a pretty good response.

Ask Congress to declare war with a vivid and memorable flair.

Mobilize the nations industry and rally the people to defend our nation.

Restore democracy to the world.

(OK, so he might take away the civil rights of some ethinic groups along the way but nobody's perfect)

At the rate they are spouting treasonous slander in the Congress, I'd say the first thing they'd do is sell out our military to the enemy and then apply for mid level bureaucracy jobs within the conquering forces regime.

They would do the same as a Republican would do... they would take the appropriate action to try and defend the US.

I am a conservative, but I don't think having a Democrat in power will destroy America as we know it.

That's a tough call, but it depends moreover on the person. They would probably still have troops find the people responsible...

Party has nothing to do with it. Really. It's a myth to think that either party has the upper hand when it comes to responding to an attack on the US. For real.

The same thing the last democratic president did . . . nothing.
