Those of you who have been there know the truth. You put your lives on the line to teach them so many things. And guard them while you are doing it.

It was after the first Gulf War that Cheney was asked why US forces had not gone all the way to Baghdad and removed Saddam Hussein. "For us to get American military personnel involved in a civil war inside Iraq would literally be a quagmire," he said. We could not and would not win it was reported Cheney said.

This response has haunted him ever since but the war supportes and Bush supporters refuse to acknowledge that Cheney said that statement.

With all due respect, soldiers sign up knowing their job will involve killing other human beings in some way. Why should I honor them when they are killed? Why not think of it like an eye for an eye- is it any different than a murderer receiving the death penalty? Now, before you get all riled up, I honestly do want to hear the other side to this. Help me understand!

I've seen this several times on this site alone. The only time I've seen a poll stating 70% of the people believe in any one thing is in regards to the troop surge or troop funding, not an end to the war. Any ideas where people are getting this 70% of U.S. citizens want to end the war?

Here is my source for all polls about the Iraq war: http://www.pollingreport.com/iraq.htm

Dad says he was there and that his ship received fallout from the test. We need to establish proof that he was but don't know where to start. We do know his two ship assignments; 1) USS Pine Island AV-12 and 2) USS Oriskany CVA-34. Service dates were; 05/16/1952 - 10/18/1955. Reason for this question; Dad has health issues and finding this information would be of great help.

While the United States declares Martial Law, Would you stand and fight anyway, even if it meant your demise or incarceration from our country? Or how many of you believe that the military will hand over weapons to civilians to protect themselves? Or will "The right to bear Arms" be an issue in the time of war? And what of those that cannot protect themselves? Who will protect them? The Public Servants? And what of the chaos, then?

The soldiers give their lives to save the children from Having their lives bieng ruined by unrealistic individuals and yet people who dont see the truth sit back and talk s*it. What is up with that? The Government in the higher realms are even too affraid to do the real thing( just talk) talk is safe but if ya cant run with the big dog's then stay home and shut up. Not meant as an insult. Pssht, and the higher ups are protected by the lower so there is no real threat, unless they are willing to get right in there and support their soldiers instead of running?Put down the paperwork and put on the body armor and run jump and protect with the rest, Ya think?
