It's now well established that George W. Bush never showed up for National Guard duty for a period of approximately one year, possibly more, in 1972-1973. Despite all the talk about "honor and dignity," Bush seems to have a problem meeting his commitments and following through with his duties.

Bush says he's released all his records...if that's true, then has anyone seen:

Any pages from Bush's flight log
Records from the Flight Inquiry Board convened after Bush was suspended as a pilot
Any evidence of Bush's reclassification into another AFSC after suspension as a pilot
Any photos of George Bush in a military uniform after 1972
Anything at all from any Alabama unit with Bush's name on it
Any copies of form 44a from the Alabama National Guard certifying attendance
Air Force Form 142 (Aviation Service Audit Worksheet)
Anything proving service (not just receipt of pay) by Bush between May 1972 and May 1973?

The Iraq Troop Protection & Reduction Act

The Iraq Troop Protection & Reduction Act of 2007 presents a comprehensive approach to Iraq that halts the President's escalation policy and provides an alternative strategy in Iraq with the goal of stabilizing the country so American troops can redeploy out of Iraq. Senator Clinton's legislation puts real pressure on the Iraqi government, requiring the Iraqis to make political progress or lose funding for their military and reconstruction, require the Bush Administration to begin a phased redeployment and convene an international conference within 90 days or a new Congressional authorization would be required to remain in Iraq. Finally, the legislation would prohibit the use of funds to send troops to Iraq unless they have the proper equipment and training.

Where can I buy a color patch for the 6th Air Mobility Wing at McDill Air Force Base. I am looking for a color patch with "Parati Defendere." I can only find the subdued patch on the Internet.

I tried E-Bay.
I tried every patch seller that I could find.
I called base public affairs.
I called base HQ
I called the base clothing sales store
I even called the Vanguard company.

No one can help me to fill this hole in my patch collection.

I've seen these as suggested alternatives to Bush's foreign policy. What do you think of each idea?

1. Set up negotiations with Israel and other middle easy countries so they can sign some peace agreements. Work hard at creating diplomacy between Israel and their enemies.
2. Threaten countries that defy UN inspectors (like Iraq did) and give resistance. If necessary, bomb strategic military targets, but don't start a war.
3. Make an agreement with N. Korea to stop weapons programs in exchange give them light-water nuclear plants that can't be used for weapons. Also use sanctions and aid to control them.
4. Create a special unit within the anti-terrorism forces to specifically go after Bin Laden and his allies. Their sole purpose would be to track Bin Laden's intentions to stop more terror plots.

Yes, during Clinton`s "peacetime", there were over four thousand military deaths. These figures were taken from the D.O.D. website. Between the years 1993 through 1996, there were more peacetime military deaths than during this whole Iraq conflict !
Again, the source is the D.O.D. website. Any military death is sad, but many people need to put things into perspective. The liberal media has tricked many Americans. Have you been duped ?

1) Focus on training the Iraqi troops, and reduce combat roles of American troops. Withdraw slowly. Keep a small contingent of special forces, a light infantry brigade, a stryker brigade, air support, and intelligence elements in country. What needs to seen by the Iraqis is us leaving a less visible footprint on Iraq that doesn't look like occupiers. However, there need to be enough forces to deal with an enemy buildup when necessary.
2)The Israeli-Palestinian crisis is related to the other problems in the region. Pressure Israel to make a settlement, and don't guarantee them unconditional aid
3) Beef up forces in Afghanistan to route out the resurgent taleban forces and al-quaida. Step up pressure on Pakistan and conduct missions within the Pakistan border that are clandestine.
4) Keep the pressure on Iran by moving carriers and warships in the region to make him THINK we are going to attack, but don't do it! Saddam was willing to let weapons inspectors in before the war started, and we ignored him. This time, go to the brink but don't attack. Get them to negotiate when we are at a position of strength. If we start redeploying our forces, they won't be overstreached and the option to attack would "look" more viable.

Everybody is so hard on him, but look at what he has had to endure as a President. If you look at statistics you will see that the 3000 soldiers who have died is a fraction of what died in ANY other war. What's the big deal? People need to get over themselves.

I am going to join the Navy in the summer, after graduation, as an officer in the Warfare Dept.

This is part due to a yearning to see the world and some action, and to meet and work with good people. More than that, though, I have heard the call of the sea (I hope some old mariners know what I mean!).

I have to admit, a tiny part of me is attracted to the life of the old sea dog, drunken in exotic ports with a beard the size of Angola. Is this life long, long dead in this modern age?

I just want a good life on the waves!

Thanks!
