if it fought a single European power 1 on 1. My history is a little bit cloudy but I thought several European Country including Japan and the US ganged up on China to force it to open it's borders and sign those unequal treaties. My question is, if China had only one of those countries to deal with, take you pic, COULD it have been able to holds it's own?

how do you people deal with people calling you with military slang? for example: army-grunt; marine - jar head or devil dog; af - flyboy; navy - squid.

where i work there's an army reservist that i work beside and me and him constantly call each other out. (i'm depping for the navy) but when someone (i.e. civilian) calls me a sqid, i cringe a little. i was wondering if it was just me?

my marine boyfriend and his buddies are the same way, but their marines... i've learned to live with their headstrong ways.

I am against the war with all of my being. At first I thought, bring our boys home as soon as possible-but now, it has come to my attention that if we were to do that it would cause more problems. I really hate to say this because I am against the war, but it has to be brought to some peoples attention that serious consequences could come as a result of pulling troops out of Iraq at this point. Even though Iraq was very "broken" when we went over, it is now in shambles. If we were to leave now without in some way securing Iraq from outside countries, Iraq could fall to any government that came along to "help" them. Iran is who I believe would come in after we left, and be the "hero". Iraq would then fall to the command of Iran and we would be doomed. It is known that there are several major terrorist groups who train in and are funded by Iran. What are your thoughts on this topic?

Is there any way I can get some pic's of how differently our arm forces live (Here in the U.S.A)? I would like to compare a Army hose to other's like how they live in the navy or Cost Gard.

And only station troops there. The Iraq Sunnis and Shiites could then battle it out if they wish.

My son-in-law will be getting out of the Marines this summer after 4 years, and will be doing 4years inactive duty. Is there anyone out there who knows what is available for him in financial aid? From what I read about the GI bill online, I'm not even sure he'll be eligible for that.

I know i asked this question already, but i got lots of conflicting answers. I went to the post office and asked the guy behind the counter about it, who said you need only one 37 cent stamp...but i've read in other places that i need closer to 80 cents....so now i'm wondering if he missed the "iraq" part of my question. Please help me out. (The letter, by the way, is just the standard sized deal...nothing huge)

As per a news item, just I noticed that Iran will be taught a lesson in every angle by US. It seems US in sternous study about Iran since the fall of Saddham Hussain. Already US had located several thousand targets of Military and economic ones to be blasted with in first hour attack with multiple war headed missiles and Air attacks!!

Ok! Incase such an event takes place, what will be international political situation? Who will be the next after Iran????

how should i tell my grandmother that i'm going to be a marine and leave for Parris Island in like 3 months. I've been in the DEP for quite sometime and everyone else in my family knows about my decision but her. I have problems telling her because she takes everything so dramatically, this is something i've wanted my whole life and it makes me mad that she would be so selfish as to get so upset about it rather than just support me. How would you, or how did you break it to people you knew that would take it the hardest?
