Yah, probably. Since you're safer in Iraq than you are in New Orleans, Washington DC, or Los Angeles.
And MUCH safer than if you're in London, Paris, or Amsterdam.

As Iraq goes Al asad is fairly safe. More so than a Baghdad or Balad. Camp Anaconda in Balad is called mortaritaville because of all the incoming it gets. Hey USMC Mom give it a rest ok? Having served in the Mideast more than once I think I know a bit more about opsec than you. Do you think the internet is nonexistent in Iraq or Iran? All a terrorist has to do is look up the websites for many units and get as much or more than is mentioned here. I have no idea if your Marine is deployed but can tell you that if he is in Iraq or A-stan he works daily with "hajji's who report what they do and see to someone who wishes him and us harm. I am glad that you care but ease up a bit.

Al Asad is as safe as most other bases. I spent time there and Baghdad, Camp Victory, Speicher, Fallajuha, Anaconda, Mosul, Basrha and others. It's all about keeping alert.

For the safety of all our troops this is something that absolutely should not be discussed here. By answering this question with ANY detail, no matter how insignificant is sounds, you expose young men and women who serve to the possibility of increased danger.
Please be more careful.
