noon is 1200
in the pm it is 1300 = 1 PM

is a 24 hour clock so if it is less than or equal to 1259 add the ":" and be done with it. If it is 1300 or later subtract 12:00 and then add the ":"

7:20 PM.

It's the 24 hour clock. Not hard to use, it just takes a little getting used to. Start at midnight. When you get to noon, that's 1200 hours. One in the afternoon is 1300 hours.

Subtract 1200, and you get 7:20 pm.

Remember not to put that semicolon in there when writing military time. It is 1920 hours.
