years as a Marine, I held five ranks. I held one rank twice, but in two different pay grades. One of the current ranks available today, I never held. Another of the ranks available today, I held, but in a different pay grade. What was the circa of my time as a US Marine. The first to answer correctly, gets 10 points. Semper Fidelis!

im guessing in the late 50's to early 1960's
you were a
PVT-E1
PFC-E2
CPL-E3 (Then they came with lance corporal) so you were then a CPL-E4
SGT-E5
And finally a SSGT-E6 (may have been called PLT SGT back in your day)
August 1960: The Corps' Enlisted Rank and Pay Structure Board revised the rank structure, incorporating lance corporals, E8s and E9s.

I'm gonna guess mid-fifties to late 70's?

I figure the rank you held twice was corporal - someplace in the fifties, I believe they added lance corporal to the structure? Not sure, but I think they added Sgt Major of the Marine Corps around 78-80 - in there sometime?

If you were enlisted...it could have been PVT and PFC...not really sure...but I would venture to guess...if I'm reading this right and you want the actual years (not time in service) then I would have to say 60's or 70's. With 5 ranks it could have been 4-5 years.

But what do I know...I'm just married to a Marine (for 15 years)

:)

Serve your excursion after which you're able to do what you like. while you at the instant are not keen to attend until eventually your excursion is over to do a non secular project....then do no longer verify in for the Marines. Semper Fidelis, Z

I've never been a Marine, but I sure wish I knew the answer. Not for the ten points just because out of all the military branches, the Corps is the one I admire the most. Thank you for your service to our country! God Bless You!
