I can answer this from both sides. I was in the military years ago and I work for a moving company now. Movers who handle government shipments must be approved (our warehouse is inspected quarterly) by the government and each move is "graded", for lack of a better word. A mover can be penalized for not getting paperwork in to the local transportation officer on time or for putting an article in the wrong type of carton. Movers are required to note the serial numbers of weapons or high value items. Each item (carton, piece of furniture, etc) must be marked with a colored, numbered sticker and written up, in detail, on an inventory. It's your responsibility to go over the inventory at the time of loading and at the time of delivery. You'll also be asked to verify the services that the mover performs for you.
You can also do a DITY (do it yourself) move, but most people don't because they have a lot to deal with and loading, driving and unloading a rental truck or trailer is an enormous amount of work.
If you go over your weight allowance, which is based upon your paygrade, you'll be required to reimburse the government for the excess costs incurred.
Good luck. Stay safe.

definitely no longer! actually, it relatively is a huge theory. you will experience and do lots extra beneficial than all people your age. you will do a large type of becoming up in the militia. you will possibly discover which you like the militia and opt to stay in. this is not uncommon for human beings to try this. basically verify you seem at each and every of the branches so which you're making the main suitable determination. in case you do no longer plan on staying in the militia, you will possibly desire to %. a branch and settlement that advantages you the main. while you try to get a level in journalism, do this throughout the time of the militia on a similar time as you artwork as a journalist. you have a level and experience that provides you with a strengthen over modern college grads. And employers LOVE past militia workers simply by fact they coach a sprint extra integrity than maximum. i'm no longer asserting they have extra integrity, yet in the eyes of an company they do. Employers will usually take a raffle on a prior service individual than a individual sparkling out of faculty. i've got examine lots of the different posters, and that they are incorrect. you will no longer get PTSD. The miltary is gigantic on training and you have time to get a level. in case you get deployed, you will maximum possibly have an training midsection at your base the place you may proceed your training or maybe take CLEP and DANTES direction to get college credit. I say choose for it. stable good fortune jointly with your determination.

Yes they will box your stuff but what ever you do keep your eye on them on how they box it. Because my Mom had to get on to one of them because they were just going to wrap her porcelain dolls up in paper and she had to tell them no that she wanted her dolls wrapped in bubble paper.
As for the movers the best thing I can tell you is find out where the office on the base is so that you can talk to them they should be able to help you.

When my hubby and I PCS'd the military used Atlas Van lines to move our stuff. It was great. you just stand there and they do EVERYTHING. They make an inventory list of everything you have, and they will have you go over it and sign. MAKE SURE YOU GO OVER IT!!!! I didnt go over mine thuroughly, and when my household goods arrived at destination, I was missing a box that had a quilt my great grandmother made in it. When I called to report it lost, they told me that it wasn't on my inventory list. I checked my list, and it wasnt on there either, so I was S.O. L.
