i don't know, and that's why i try not to judge him. everyone can sit & spout off political rhetoric, but none of us REALLY know what we'd do, b/c its impossible without being faced with the situation directly.
woulda, coulda, shoulda ' s don't are not worth anything.

What's the big deal? Only 3000 have died? The big deal is that ANY have died. The government lied to the public about Saddam having weapons of mass destruction. We did not need to go over there. Is it good Saddam's out - YES. If I were president I would bring our troops home. PERIOD. Let the Iraqis handle their own country. We have enough problems of our own. Homelessness, crime, illegal immigration. Let the military take care of our own people, maybe like fix New Orleans! Still isn't done yet! I think our country needs to worry about it's own problems and not stick our noses in everyone elses business.

First of all I would not have gotten into the mess. I would be honest with people and not try to profit off of war or poor people. But if I inherited the mess I would work very hard to bring our people home in a phased pull out. I would make it clear to the Iraqi government they are on their own civil war or not. There could have been zero casualties in a war against a country that was no threat to us. They may have made huge profits impossible for oil companies but not for America in general.

The big deal is that it's over 3000 of our young and countless numbers of Iraqis. At one point in time Vietnam hit the 3000 mark and ended up over 53000 dead and more dying every day due to Agent Orange. As to Bush, he lied to get us into this mess and keeps lying to keep us into it. In order to keep the morale of our nation high we now need to win this mess. By winning I mean that we should triple our troop strength and smash the insurgents entering into Iraq and remove those that are already there. We can't afford to walk away like we did in the Nam and suffer several decades of low morale.
As to Bush, he's an idiot and Cheney is a low life.

If I were in his position, I would have kept focus on Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda, and stayed in Afghanistan (maybe Pakistan if there was proof Osama was there). I would not have lied to my nation to convince them that going to war in Iraq was the right thing to do. Also, by doing that, we wouldn't be spending hundreds of billions of dollars in Iraq, and then we wouldn't have to cut funding for the Veterans Administration. That way, the US could take care of it's soldiers injured in combat.
As an aside to flygrl16, you said, "as the President of the United States-we shouldn't degrade him." How did you talk about Clinton when he was president? If you didn't bad mouth Clinton, fine, but if you did, why is it OK to degrade him, but not Bush? That's my biggest gripe about Bush supporters. They tell us we shouldn't badmouth him because he is the president, yet they are the same ones who badmouthed Clinton constantly when he was president.

I think i would have done some things the same as he did but i would look for a better way to get our people out while still stabilizing things in Iraq. Also, i would invest more in alternate energy now.

The big deal is they are our sons and it kills a mother to lose a child.
Bush let the liberals tie his hands when he should have done like his dad did with Desert Storm and had it done and over instead of dragging it out causing more lives needlessly lost. Now I do not see a solution. One thing I know the Democrats DO NOT HAVE ANY SOLUTION

Amen USMC.
I'm a Bush supporter (whoever up there who mentioned bad mouthing clinton) I don't say you shouldn't cause he's president - esp since I'm not a hypocrite - I hate clinton. I'd never say not to simply cause he's a president.
The military is one of the reasons anyone can bad mouth whoever is in office. They will be the first to tell you that. (military)
For all those who said you would kill yourselves - go ahead.
Iraq obviously *had* WMD - or it wouldn't have been able to gas the Kurds. As much as syria is helping iraq - it wouldn't surprise me if they were there. The WMD are somewhere. if they were in syria - they'd have used them on our people in iraq by now.

Blow up LA with a nuke Blame it on Terrorists, invade Iran and declare myself Dictator for life because of the crisis the Nation would be in and the need to create more security. This would allow the rounding up and executing of everybody not a card carrying member of the New Republican Party. (Yes the BoyScouts of America would be expected to turn in their seditious parents)

Continue on as planned! Yes he has made mistakes but all in all has done an outstanding job leading this country. We have not had anymore attacks since 9/11 & Saddam is no longer in power! God Bless President Bush!
