These are acronyms to describe messed up situations. Typically, the "F" stands for "f**ked" and is therefore not "G" rated for children's classes, or even adult classes where people may be sensitive to language.

Euphemistically these are "Situation Normal: All Fouled Up" and "Fouled Up Beyond All Recovery" or minor variations thereof.

Originally, Situation Normal: All F*#$%ed Up but it has been cleaned to Fouled Up. It was started by the WWII Seabees in the Pacific around 1941-42.
