When you speak to recruiter they give you a list of reasons to enlist. The first is the opportunity for school. then a paycheck, free health care, free room and board, an opportunity to travel ( well its actually compesation for your time) VA benefits, retiring @ 28, Discpline... and many more and then lastly they will say and you get to serve your country!... People join for different reasons even though once they are in they might say thats their own reason. I think the only real reason to do it is to serve your country and do more than just enjoy the freedoms we have here in America to go out and work for them!

If not for us, what would stop China from invading Taiwan? What would keep Russia from re-absorbing their old satellite nations? Some countries have proven that they have no regard for human rights, and nothing motivates them more than power. Imagine a world in which no one was strong enough to keep countries like China and Russia in check

It seems that the insurgents are at a disadvantage in Iraq of late because the citizens of that country are seemingly getting fed up with the destruction and insensative murdering that these radicals commit daily. They(Iraq citizens) collectively are now identifying the secret locations where these sand nazis are building their car bombs and other destructive devices and reporting it to the American troops. This is giving the US Marines/Army an advantage that they didn't have before.

People seem to be torn by whether we should bring our troops home yet our not!!! but do you think if they were all brought home next year 100% out of Iraq, yet the job was not finished, would those same who didn't want to end the war, want the soldiers to go back... Would they not be happy that they were home!

Prince Harry is going to Iraq. He threatened to quit the military unless he went..

He’ll become a primary target & therefore risk his fellow troops. If Harry was kidnapped and tortured on video or killed it would be a disaster. So, one of the four elite SAS squadrons has been tasked with protecting him

Before Harry goes anywhere, the SAS will sweep the area & secure it in advance.. Then they’ll shadow him at a distance & let him play soldiers in safety. The SAS will kill any enemy before they get near anywhere him

The British SAS are the most elite, most proven, best trained & deadly Special Forces in the world. But the superhuman fitness, stamina, bravery & intelligence needed to be a Special Forces soldier means they’re very rare.

Should the most skilled soldiers be wasted on protecting a spoiled Prince so he can play war without the real risk of war? Or should Harry stay home & let the SAS do real stuff like preventing terrorism, rescuing hostages, assassinating warlords etc.

So people say now is a bad time to join the military, my mom is scared for me to do it... but what about those who joined before the war to do things like go to college... I mean the way I see it if you go now at least you know what you are going into.... My brother joined and a monthe after AIT the gulf war broke out, he just wasn't ready to go to college! Do you think its a bad idea to join now? do you think it matters when you join because war can happen anytime... please don't tell me not to join and not to sign away 8 years of my life... stay in school go to college...

He just stayed right there talking to the kiddies like it was no big deal. What ever happened to WTC building 7 anyways? It blew up late that afternoon into a fine pile of dust.

How come the Bin Laden confession tape is played by an actor who looks nothing like Bin Laden? Writing a note with his right hand and wearing jewelry?

How come the crash site of flight 93 was just a hole in the ground? No plane parts...engines or landing gear?

and all the military services members are back home.

Who deserves a job? Those with better skills, or those with miltary service?

Who would you hire and why?

Their is more evidence to support hiring a prior war opponent than a military service member. Prove me wrong.

I read that enlisted do not salute among themselves, since sergeants aren't warrant officers or commissoned officers, a sergeant shouldn't be salutet, or did I missunderstood the rules?
By which regulation is this?
I'm asking about regulations for the U.S. Air Force, if that makes a different.
