They have been the whole time. It is the militias that need to be taken out now.. Armies disloyal to the government.

Personally, I doubt it. And I would love to think that was true, I am here in Iraq now, but I think that the personal love for vengance outweighs the personal love for peace here, so the violence will continue for quite awhile yet. They will put their own children on the line to have vengance on the neighbor that wronged them some time in the past. I have little faith that the Iraqi people will end up being the driving force that ends the violence here. It is just not in their make up. They have lived under the cruelty of Saddam for so long that it has become embedded into their hearts, and they want to hurt others that have hurt them, instead of the Christian thinking of forgivness.

It is a break for the people fighting the war - but any victories over in Iraq are ignored by the news media.
The fact of the matter is that most people mindlessly believe what the news media chooses to tell them about the war - they never bother to check with a soldier to see if that news is accurate.

I'm not sure where you are getting your information but Iraq is in a full-blown civil war = complete chaos.
As far a break for us... it is possible if either side of the civil war surrenders.

The people of Iraq might not accept the killing of civilians by the insurgents and this might tilt their support to the US troops and the government it established.

It 'seems' that you are dreaming. Where did you hear this drivel?
Fox News?
The only 'really big break' is that the UK is preparing to gradually withdraw their troops from Iraq.

If you read the papers or watched the news, you wouldn't be asking ridiculous questions like this one.
