I don't disagree with war in Iraq- it's about time somebody started kicking muslim terrorist *** instead of trying to placate these worthless turds. As for the sacrifices our troops are making, yes I appreciate it. As a veteran myself, though, I would like to hear more appreciation for our Vietnam vets and the sacrifices they made after they were drafted right out of high-school. Thank-you Vietnam and Iraqi vets for doing what you're doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You bet I do. Even if I didn't have family who have been there or are going, I would have compassion for them..As many of the cons have said, they volunteered. Yeah, they volunteered for the service, though not this particular illegal war they know won't be won. .Most supported war in Afghanistan because there they were protecting their country from further terrorist attack. But they & the people have wised up to the lies they were told. Enlistments, especially reenlistments, are way down, no matter what the WH & DOD say.
I am sure they didn't volunteer for multiple deployments, some of them for the 4th time. I'm sure the National Guardsmen didn't volunteer for multiple deployments, loss of businesses or jobs, hardships for their families. They are getting the shaft by the chicken hawks who dodged combat & the service when they were young but use these kids as cannon fodder w/o proper equipment. And the con supporters of Bushco are jeering at Prince Harry, who insisted on leading his unit in Iraq.
Damn right I am p.i.ssed. But not at our troops. And few of us so called libtards & moderates feel any differently then I do.

I'm the wife of a retired Army soldier and the daughter of a retired Marine. I think our soldiers are the best in the world and they need every tiny bit of our support. They are doing what the liberals and democrats would never do...sacrifice for this country. I agree with the war and appreciate everything our soldiers do. It's a job that's hard as hell and most people wouldn't do it. I watched my husband serve 20 years for our country and never, at one time, did I ever heard him complain about what he had to do. He was proud to serve Americans and he did it well. BRAVO to all our men in service and may God go before you and protect your every step.

Today "support the troops" is popular. In my time the good people regarded us as killers. I had to change out of uniform to go to school in the 70's to avoid fights or pelting with food and garbage. Cops used to take every opporitunity to target us. I was a drafted college graduate as were many of the soldiers back then. We were smarter than most of the officers and the public knew it. We also had no real choice when the draft board sent you a notice. Today Kerry's so called dumb volunteer soldiers are respected. That's good. Who knows what will come in a few years. It depends on the trends.

You better believe I do. Freedom is not cheap. We may spend billions of dollars but that does not mean nothing to me. Let one soldier get killed, that is worth more than billions. Not only do I appreciate the soldiers, I appreciate the sacrifices the parents, wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, etc., of the serving soldiers give. All the family has to pickup and pull together to help out each other to cover for the soldier. It is hard financially and emotionally. God bless the soldiers and keep them safe and their families. This is a great country to live in and it is because of all past sacrifices to keep us free. We are all Americians if born here. Not Asian American, not African American etc. JUST PLAIN AMERICANS.

I dont agree with the way we entered the war in Iraq, but as a soldier, and the son of a soldier I have the upmost respect for anyone who serves their country in time of war. Its wrong to judge soldiers for the war they fight. As soldiers it is their duty to go and fight where ever they are sent. All these people that refuse to deploy are cowards and should be shot because that is not what a soldier does.

i never really thought we should have attacked Iraq in the first place. though don't get me wrong i also believe that now that we are over there we need to finish the job. my brother is over there fighting in the war and he is one of the people guarding convoys so they don't get blown up and this is the 2nd time he has been deployed since this war has started. there is such a thing a disagreeing with the war but still supporting the troops over there.I will also be happy when he gets to come home.

I may disagree with the reasoning behind the war, but I stand 100% behind those who are choosing to serve. I have no other choice- I love this country and I think that anyone who decides to stand up for it deserves someone to be there for them when they come home.
This isnt like Vietnam when they came home to hate and anger- this is where they come home to those who have empathy....

Absolutely. And to prevent additional losses, we need to get out of Iraq and partition it along ethnic lines to end the civil war.
