When they say their nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes. If we don't is it war.

What also puzzles me is why does Iran need nuclear power when it's swimming in oil. You all seem to be forgetting this

The only way we get to hear that it's is for weapons is from our governments. The same governments that have lied about too many things already.
I think that unfortunately only time will tell.
Nostradamus said that the end of the world would start with a war in the Middle East.
So lets pray that they are not making nuclear weapons.

I don't really know whether they're building a nuclear weapon - nobody knows for sure as no solid proof exists.

People need to consider the latest reports from the IAEA as they're the official UN nuclear authority & the most credible authority on nuclear weapons. They have also inspected most of Iran.

The IAEA state that even if Iran is secretly working on a nuclear WMD project, it won't have the weapon for 10 years. Here's the report:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/iran-bomb-is-10-years-away-says-elbaradei/2007/02/20/1171733763563.html

The CIA and UK intelligence have also said 10 years.

Therefore, it would be stupid to start another war now. In 10 years time Iran, America and Britain will have different leaders and might have worked this out.

If Iran is attacked, they will respond in a way that will put our troops in Iraq at risk & make the US & UK terrorist targets. Iran is far more capable and armed that people assume. Russia has sold them billions of dollars of the most advanced missile technology.

Too many people are just following the same fear propaganda Bush used for Iraq. American's don't seem to understand that invading Iran will be a big mistake and make Iraq look like a picnic.

To answer you second point. Iran's economy exists on oil exports and oil is a finite resource. In 30 years time it'll be very low and Iran has growing energy needs and needs a long term solution.

Also - Iran doesn't have the refinery capability and users other nations to refine their oil. Iran wants to be independent and worries that America could try to stop other nations refining their oil. They want to be self sufficient and not at the mercy of foreign nations.

They do have a case for nuclear power

Once they announce thay have a nuclear bomb or attempt to launch a nuclear bomb. or any missile for that matter, it will all be over but the crying as far as Iran is concerned.

If the US doesn't launch in retaliation, certainly Israel will. The time for negotiation will be way past the point of no return. Annihilation is a terrible thing, but Iran has been warned, and it will happen if they dare push it any further.

The Iranian people are good, ordinary people. It's too bad they have to be dragged into this mess, but it's their leadership and their devil worshiping ayatollahs that are provoking this action. They will fall along with their leadership unless they take the initiative to put down their government, now!

Religion in government is the biggest cause of wars and death in modern history. When will man learn that God's laws are not man's law, and only one can dominate. Since all Islamic laws are written by man, it stands to reason that Islam is a man made religion, therefore man's law can be changed, or can be ignored. In either case, Muslims better wake up to the fact that we infidals despise what you stand for, and we will destroy you before you can follow through with your evil threats to us or our allies!

I think that the Iranians are probably running their nuclear programme for both peaceful energy production and also for war (nuclear weapons). Unfortunately George Bush has lost his integrity after Iraq, and cannot now be trusted or believed when he suggests that Iran is supporting Iraqi insurgents. He sounds like a broken record.

I think we should wait until Iran tests a working nuclear bomb before taking them out. Then we can flatten them good and proper.

For Iranians read PERSIANS. The Persians have a long history and desire of wanting to dominate the West.

The Spartans defeated the Persians, saving Greece and thus Europe from a fate worse than death.

Alexander the Great, totally and utterly destroyed the Persian Empire of King Darius. Alexander's army marched as far east as the Punjab defeating the Afghans on the way.

Alexander never once stopped to count the number of enemy dead.

Unfortunately Alexander's new Greek Empire collapsed soon after he died at Alexandria in Egypt. Pity.

We now have to deal with the Persians.

The Persians should never be under estimated. They have a long history of domination. They want to dominate the West and take away our freedom and liberty and replace it with Sharia law, torture and death. Do not believe these smooth talking Persians. They lie in the face of God. They are a nation of blasphemers.

Can we believe = NO

War plans have been drawn up for ages at the Pentagon - it's only a question of time before the USA take some form of military action against Iran.

A world at peace will never happen - religion is the core to mankind's daft disputes and sadly it will likely be our ultimate destruction.

All nuclear sites in Iran should be bombed.

They are so unstable & they will hold the world to Ransom.

Unfortunately the US & Britain supported & supplied Saddam Hussein WMD to fight Iran & the US shot an Iranian passenger plane down.

Iran had no option but to arm themselves due to the continuing threat from a big Bully.

It is now dificult to talk to them as they do not trust 2 faced politicians.

Russian & Chinese diplomats may be able to talk some sense with the Iranians

Its not the Iranians we need to be worried about. The Bush administration is currently doing its best to infer ( for Americans, thats when you suggest without providing direct evidence) that Iran is directly funding terrorism against the West. If Bush wants to invade then he quite simply will find an excuse. Has everyone forgotten about the weapons of mass destruction that Iraq allegedly had pointed at the West? Still not found them and our teenage soldiers are still dying as a result. Not to mention that Iraq is in ruins politically and socially. Who gave the West the monopoly on nuclear power or weapons? On whose authority? Pop quiz for you:

1) Who are the only people ever to have dropped a nuclear bomb on top of a nation of people?

Whoops, its the same people that say Iran can't have them. Thats called hypocrisy.

Just an answer to the second part of your question. Iran's oil supply is only thought to last another 25-50 years. Plus their economy is based on exporting oil.
