Patton wanted to ally with the defeated Nazi's and attack Russia.
MacArthur wanted to nuke China off the map during the Korean War. Hmmm, maybe presidents should let the generals decide....
The world's two greatest threats to democracy wouldn't exist.

A man from the Army came and told me cousin all of this stuff about driving a truck for the army. And I don't really want him to go. He said they told him that you didn't have to go to war you could choose what you want wanted to do, you got nice beds, go to ride a huge ship that was like a cruise ship, had ball courts on it, the food was the best in the world, you got off on weekends, only worked till 5 pm, you get a huge bonus, and i don't know what all. I was just wondering if it was true...and I want you to be completley honest and go into details if you can.

The Melo Report to the UN stressed that military commanders haves allowed and tolerated the killings. The report stressed a "sanctioned policy in the Armed Forces or in the civilian government" to undertake extra-judicial killings.

This soldier Paul Cortez, who raped and killed an Iraqi girl, and her family is sentenced to a much harsher prison term than he would have gotten if he raped and killed someone in this country. It seems someone really has it in for our soldiers. It is terrible if someone committed a crime like this, but think of the constant stress the soldiers are under. Anyone can snap under certain circumstances. I'm sure that even the Iraqis know how ridiculous we are, bending over backwards to be politically correct.

I wish they would be less biased, maybe showing some positive things going on, don't shield us from the horrible things going on, but don't hide the positive for better ratings! I think it does a disservice to our men and women serving over seas that we don't get to see all of these things. I also think the American people would be able to form a better opinion on whether we should stay or go!

I'm 16 years old and i want to enlist with the Marine Corps when i turn 17. The problem is, I know I NEED to be physically fit. Also mentally, and everything else, but right now im conserned on how i should prepare myself physically. I talk to a recruiter at my school and he said i should be physically prepared BEFORE i go through recruit training. So any suggestions on what i should be able to do would be helpful.

All I hear about is these stupid U.S troops who no one asked to defend them, raping little 14 year old girls in Iraq and killing there families. It seems as though every wek some "soldier" is charged with raping and killing innocent people. If they can't handle war then they shouldn't have fought for a country that doesn't need protection, and is stealing oil and land, and making it look like theres a civil war going on. And dont tell me "oh what about 9/11". 9/11 wouldn't have happened if the U.S would let countries run there own governments which the people eloected, but are looked at as terrorist organizations.

How hard is it to transfer from the reserves as an officer to active duty as an officer?

Also a colonel told me that you can pretty much pick your job as an officer in the reserve but that in the Army it's much more competative?

I'm starting my junior year in college and was thinking about joining both the Army Reserves and ROTC at the same time through the Simultaneous Membership Program and graduating in two years as an officer in the Army Reserve (and getting to pick what branch I want to be in), I woud then switch over to active Army so that I could get the branch I wanted easier.

The colonel said that while I was in S.M.P. the Reserves were investing in me as an officer and that it would be hard to transfer to active duty once I graduated and became an officer in the Reserves.

Anyone who was in reserves as an officer and then transfered to Active, or anyone who would know anything about this, answer please.

Bush was in what the National Guard or something like that... so he wouldn't get drafted... Do you think that it would be better to have a president who served his nation in the military actively than one who didn't... do you think it should be mandatory to carry out the main role as commander and cheif... i mean in the civilian world your boss can typically do your job, and possibly has done it before!
