for the Navy it will depend on where you fall in line.. there will be several groups, first tier will get paid first, second tier will be paid next, and so on. It can literally take a year after being frocked before you get paid for it.

I know with the navy it isnt right away it takes about 6 months after you get frocked. Marine Corps.. I think is the next pay period or a month later.. other branches not sure

Generally a promotion happens on the first day of a month. The pay increase starts that day but you probably won't see it in your check for 2-4 weeks.

Promotion and pay advancement are coincidental. You will normally see it on you second pay cycle.
