If you look at the major wars of the past 200 years, you can make an argument that just about every one of them was an exception to the Democratic Peace Theory.

Therefore, I would hold that the Democratic Peace Theory is invalid. In a perfect world, it would work, but we do not live in a perfect world.

Well, it would be if not for two things,

One: The US has never had a civil war. The "southern" states left the Union and formed a sovereign democratic government separate from the united states. The war was an attack on that nation by the US government.

Two: The " Democratic Peace Theory" is liberal nonsense, democratic countries engage is war with others on a regular basis, and have since the days of the Romans and the Greeks.
