The USA isn't but the Bush Administration is. Bush has opened the door with his recent policy of open-engagement of Iranians in Iraq to have a confrontation that he will later claim was Iran's aggression and cause to go to war with them. Hopefully, Congress will deny approval.

There's really two answers to this question.

Yes AND No!

The fact is, the Department of Defense (what's in a name?) has "plans" to invade or conduct military operations in nearly every region of the world. Why do you think we always gather intelligence on other countries? Today's allies are yesterday's enemies and vise versa, you never know, 20 years from now we could be at war with Canada, however unlikely it may seem today.

The NO part: We've got no real reason right now to plan an actual invasion of Iran. Sure, they're sabre rattling over their nuclear program, and it's likely that they have a hand in state-sponsored terrorism. But that's hardly grounds to start a war with them, especially after the turmoil we've helped bring about in Iraq. And the evidence we had then seemed to be even more reliable at the time.

No, short of another major terrorist attack and the Iranian government being concretely proven to have been involved, we will not go to war with Iran. At least not in the near-term.

It somewhat sickens me to look posts like nuke em and invade them here in Yahoo solutions it shows me there is not any desire for humanity inspite of each little thing; even nonetheless i'm against Iran government for oppressing there own men and girls human beings its now no longer superb suited to do a similar barabic approach in an attempt to clean up although. there is in any respect instances diverse strategies into fixing a difficulty. That if there's a difficulty like a mass weapons of destruction to with, even nonetheless there govt is oppressing there own persons different international leaders isn't invading it as a effect instead they're going to could be helping the protesters. Its unhappy quite that human beings may be the guy who will destroy one yet another finally.

Who the hell knows, the most I think will do is put some nice airstrikes on their nuclear plants and such. If we do, well, then there is definitly going to be a draft, and all you hippies either get to run to mexico or canada like last time or grow a pair of balls and answer your country's call.

No. The US will always have a plan for an emergency attack, but if we were to use military action it would start out with air strikes on their nuclear facilities I assume. I don't know if a true invasion would ever happen.

No way would we invade, at most airstrikes/missle strikes on selected targets, ex. nuclear sites, miltary postitions. I don't think the US wants this to happen though, however much everyone thinks bush wants it and he may want that, but knows it would not be realistic to invade. The tyrant leading Iran would love us too.

A ground invasion of Iran is probably not in the cards. It will probably look more like Afghanistan.

The US is contemplating of invading Iran because it is supporting their allies in Iraq to fight the US troops and the government that it established. Moreso, Iran is not stopping its nuclear arms build-up. Further, Iran has oil.
