I was told there is a regulation that say english is the only language that is to be spoken in the military workplace unless it is part of your officilal dutys to speak another language

We are getting a good sum of enlistment bonuses from my husband's enlistment into the Army.

It has been explained to us, the amounts, times it's given, ect. We know all that info.
But how do taxes work out on that? Is it the same percentage, or is it different for any reason?
We live in Ohio, and it's going to be 20,000 total.
Has anyone been thru this already yet?

My fiance (will be husband by the time he starts basic training) has joined the Marines and what I do almost completely depends on what I can do with my dog because she is like my child. Is it possible to have her live with us on base?

If not, how does one get authorized to live off base?

I was at a wedding and the roomnext to ours was full of Marines in dress and I spent almost the whole time in THEIR party so turned on I would have exploded if I crossed my legs too fast!

right?
The reason people become terrorists is because they are oppressed in their life. They feel hopeless and feel that only freedom is to die and go to heaven.
So threatening to kill them would only encourage them more to bomb and kill right? Since they think they're gonna go to heaven afterwards.

Work with me here: suppose we do have intelligence and diplomatic information that a radical Islamic government in Iraq would pose a serious threat for another 9-11 -like attack in the US in the next 5 years.

Would it be worth American lives now to deter that threat?

yes there are so many sad minded people out there and i do hope that she wont have to kill any person as she is joining as a combat medical team member to save lives, not to kill well thanks for all your answers, and lets hope that these young ones will make us as proud as the veterans did

Does a marine get any guarunteed leave before being posted outside of the 48 consecutive states/continent? He's not shipping out as a unit. He's just being transferred for either some more training or just a basic posting. This will be the first time he's been outside the 48 states. First he went to basic training, then he went to something else, then he went to California for a while.
