No, this is not true. However, it may affect your ability to select certain military occupational specialties which require 20/20 vision or have other vision restrictions (pilots, for example). They may disqualify you even with the surgery for such positions, but enlistment is OK. Go for it!
Better yet, go Army!

just get it when ur in.. they'll pay for it... unless ur vision is soooo messed up that u need it before u go in... then u just need a waiver...
