god i swear if i see one more liberal ask this ill hurl...STOP READING THE PELOSI PRESS RELEASES OK?????
there is this group called al qaeda...they dont like the west...they want us all dead. they attacked the uss cole, our embassies in africa and the world trade center before. we also had a chance to catch their leader osama bin laden several times in the nineties. our former president, william jefferson clinton cared none about this and spent most of his time extorting sexual favors out of interns in the oval office while sudan and other countries asked repeatedly for our help in dealing with al qaeda.
bin laden, seeing no credible response from the us, elected to intensify his, and presumably the muslims world hatred for the us by attacking the world trade center in 2001. this time he guess wrong. we had a president who had no need of sexual favors from interns or response to public polling and had the family jewels enough to do something credible about it. two attacks were launched immediately. one in pakistan to defeat the taliban and another in afghanistan to defeat al qaeda. bin laden slipped through our fingers in pakistan, however we did get several high ranking al qaeda operatives and crippled what they did. we defintlely showed them a response. along about this same time the arrogance and defiance of the un imposed sanctions on iraq with the no fly zone and other constraints begin to increase. us intelligence showed that iraq had weapons of mass destruction and saddam, busy ethnicly cleansing (or wiping from the face of the earth) the entire kurd race, had no interest or desire in cooperating or working with the un or the us. realizing this threat was eminent and the intelligence was beleive to be correct, we invaded iraq. according to richard butler, head inspector of the un., what was found were canisters for mustard gas use and a tracking system for missles. it was obvious they were there and saddam had plenty of time to move them but they were not found other than what had been mentioned. this was not a harsh or impetous action as the ties with al qaeda were clear and whether or not saddam personally had any invovlement with 911 was really a non issue as al qaeda needed to be wiped out for our survival. after seeing the defeat of saddams elite guard al qaeda begain recruiting insurgents(outsiders) from iran, moving them through the pakistani mountain region and attacking us forces. though the mission was successfull with saddam we were and are now facing al qaeda directly. this was more crucial because it is there open intent to engage us there or here and, again they want us dead at any cost. John Mccain put it best. the war will follow us home. in november 2006. Nancy Pelosi used this angst of Iraq for a well orchestrated power grab. Promising a solution to this problem, she was elected with her cronies in what is laughingly called the razor thin mandate and subsequently used the first hundred hours this month to reinstate many tax and spend proposals and offered nothing at all on iraq, though that was the original campaign issue. recently to pad the left wing extremist majority she now is publicly inviting us protectorates with no income tax or residency status to vote on domestic issues though they dont reside here and arent us citizens...but they are registered democratic states...WOWEEE. WHAT A COINCIDENCE...HUH.

so if you stop reading the pelosi press releases you can understand its all about politics and power and the real problem is how to we survive with an enemy that wants us dead and a liberal tax and spend congress who frankly could care less.

This is why i think there is a war in Iraq. In the build-up to the U.S. invasion in 2003, Bush and other administration leaders argued that Saddam should be removed from power because he had stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons and was actively seeking to build a nuclear weapon. If i maybe wrong, then it's probably because of the oil.

The reason why Bush decided to go to war is to preemptively stop Iraq from attacking the US with weapons of mass destruction. That sounds SO far from what he even talks about now, doesn't it?

In the nuclear era, the status quo of the middle East cannot be tolerated. We must actively transform the Middle East for the purpose of installing friendly governments that will cooperate with us as we hunt down terrorists and foil their plots. We are hoping that democracy will spread and that, as a result, both the leaders in particular and the people in general will be more likely to give us the cooperation we need. Because of the proliferation of nuclear technology and know-how, we cannot afford to wait for the Middle East to achieve it's own reformation.

Because Saddam Hussein was an evil, brutal dictator who killed hundreds of thousands of his own people while using UN oil-for-food profits to build grand palaces for himself. Now, Iraq is democratic, and will be a stable nation very soon. We need to stay until Iraq is stable because we don't want it to be overrun by Iran and made a province of an America/Israel hating country run by an evil man.

Because Iraq has the 4th largest oil reserve in the world.

And our government thought it ought to control this profitable commodity, so they lied to us to get us to "agree" (George doesn't really think he has to listen to us) to go along with this ridiculous war.

Other than OIL and HALIBURTON and Presidential pride, I don't know why there is still war in Iraq.

Because GW is a bully who doesn't think he has to listen to anyone including the UN. That's basically it.
