I would like opinions of what others think might happen if the U.S. pulls out of Iraq before we've stayed there long enough to establish "a new way of thinking" in this dangerous area of the world.

My Dad is a Iwo Jima survivor,How can he get in touch with John Bradley's (Flags of Our Fathers) son? John Bradley was a corpman and took care of my dad the day they raised the flag. I think the son's name is James Bradley. He was on CBS once, asking for info.

How many soldiers and marines would America need to successfully invade and occupy Iran?

Early on, very soon after the US invaded Iraq, embedded reporters told us that US troops had described Baghdad and the surrounding towns/provinces as a regular "weapons dump", that there were weapons strashed everywhere! So I'm just curious...the military were already aware of the location of these weapons. Why weren't they cleared immediately? Why were they left where they were found only to be used later by the enemies?Okay there were no WMD. But while there was an all-out effort to find them!, surely they found other weapons didn't they?
And where are all of these bombs the insurgents are using coming from? Are we to believe that they are ALL coming from Syria and Iran?

1. Set up military strongpoints throughout Baghdad, and in all other towns;
2. send out undercover men in masks to mix in with the militants and blow them away?

While america soliders, marines, airmen and sailors continue to defend our nation while fighting in the war on terror, it is amazing to me how many people critize the war and their actions. Yes the war has been going on for a long time, but we knew we would be fighting the war on terror for years and we knew this when we entered the war. While many troops have died it has still been far less than almost any other war in American history. Has anybody noticed that since we entered the war that their has not been another attack on American soil? We must fight this war and continue to fight this war until the end no matter how long it takes no matter the cost. The cost of not fighting will be far greater than fighging. DO NOT FORET 9/11. SUPPORT THE TROOPS! Think about this before you start bashing the commader and cheif, the members of the military and the war.

P.S. I am in the airforce and have served for 8 years I have been deployed many times.

This sounds too good to be true--a weapon that doesn't kill the enemy but makes them feel like they are going to catch on fire.

How high is that helicopter on that video, because I don't understand how those Iraqis couldn't see the helicopter, since they don't fly that high.

Do helicopters fly higher, then I thought?

Thanks.

Haven't most of the troops in Iraq joined since invasion? Nobody ordered them to go to Iraq, they choose to go there.

How does this make sense? There's no conscription. These soldiers knew exactly what they were getting into. They choose to do this so why not hold them accountable for their choices as we would anybody else.

It's wrong that our Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq are having their lives put at risk through lack of equipment. They do a very difficult and dangerous job. The Government talks about doing away with the Red Arrows(I presume to cut costs).
How about:
1.Cutting back on the perks given to the high ranking officers.
2. Making cuts in the Cadet Forces and CCF in Schools.

Opinions?

This is just not true! Because we disagree with the war does not mean we want to loose now that we are there. The main thing we want is the soldiers to be safe. Yes, many of us agree that we should not be there. But once there, why would we want to loose? And yes, we do believe we should get out of a war that can't be won. Actually, since this is a false statement, it should not be allowed on Yahoo Answers and should be deleted when one makes this remark!
