Every nation in the world needs resources, from oil, to minerals, etc, etc. As the demand for resources becomes greater I think you will see more and more wars. With the economies of China and India heating up the demand for oil especially will double in the next 10-20 years. With that much demand he who controls the oil supply will have an advantage.
So no I do not think wars are preventable, as long as humans are aggressive and greedy there will always be wars. I wish this wasn't true but we must be realistic.

Yes wars are preventable. take the example of Chanakya without a war he made Chandragupt a KING
These days we have an international organization ( UNO) It may be is very helpful for that cause

This is law of the jungle. Might is right. War is preventable only between the equals. Mutually assured destruction is the key word. Otherwise, the big guy will always kill the weaklings.

war is inevitable as long as one country in more powerful than another and as long as terrorism is still in force then there will always be wars. we will never conquer terrorism! you will probably have more chance stopping global warming!
