Why do people insist on stating that all liberals want to loose in Iraq?

This is just not true! Because we disagree with the war does not mean we want to loose now that we are there. The main thing we want is the soldiers to be safe. Yes, many of us agree that we should not be there. But once there, why would we want to loose? And yes, we do believe we should get out of a war that can't be won. Actually, since this is a false statement, it should not be allowed on Yahoo Answers and should be deleted when one makes this remark!

One more question for you to think. The comment I keep hearing about Bush is how the world hates us. We were love by the world under Clinton. Our reward was 9/11. Now do you really believe if we pull out of Iraq that Muslim terrorism will stop and not come here again.

All of you are making excuses why you stand for what you believe and I think you all have an "ego" issue going on that has nothing to do with victory. Shoot,Move, and communicate! It sounds better for victory than fart, piss, and deficate for getting the crap knocked out of you. I am a regular old american who wonders if our Country's founders meant for us to categorize their ignorance in the Declaration of Independance so we could later argue about conservative and liberal issues based on race,gender, and religeon. This country was founded as a Republic if you remember in the pledge of allegiance(...or was that just indoctrination during the cold war?.) Regardless, we ended up in a Democracy (which historically does not last very long.) We need to wage a war far more disgusting than the insurgents and outright slaughter those who dare raise a fist to us in Iraq (just like our strongest ally in Europe...France...yes France... did in Algeria during the battle of the Casbah in the 1950's against the same people and war we are fighting now...except they won militarily, but lost by...wait a minute... by the same public opinion we have now in the United States). I think our country is too young to have progressed this fast technologically because too many idiots are still defending the tree's while living in log cabins.. P.s. I do have two combat tours under my belt so burn their bridges and let the fire lead the way! Hopefully when Hillary Clinton wins the presidential election, and unites the world like Bill did, then a burly, loveable, Islamo-facist like Osama can marry Chelsea and bash her head in at some soccer stadium for their "honeymoon" in Afganistan in front of a cheering crowd because she looked at the moon without permission. Remember the Crusades in Europe tried to stop this outright attack on Jews and Christians a thousand years ago...and it was not some blood lust by the Christians, but some Christians trying to stop the blood lust. It seems that folk like to label each other as this or that. I do not think that the administration has effected a working policy for Iraq, yet I do not think we can pull out and leave the area to turn into a terrorist training center. I will support any liberal or Conservative who has a workable plan to stabilize Iraq and draw down our human and financial support.

Iraq's destiny is in the hands of the Iraqi people, not the US. They are the ones who have to settle their sectarian disputes, build an army, police force, reconstruct their oil depots, etc. The Iraqi government has to take charge of the responsibilities given them and stop relying on the US to spoon-feed them. As for winning and losing, that's irrelevant. Bush has always made claim of "victory". That's ridiculous. We have no business there since Saddam is gone, no WMD were found, no 9-11 conspiracy, etc. Our business is done and we should get out, period. Bush is the one that makes those divisive remarks. I think he's forgotten this is a democracy. Based on the polls, his positions are being opposed by liberals and conservatives alike.

OK, is the statement that "most liberals" want to lose in Iraq more to your liking?

Because the constant barrage of anti-war, WMD "lie", 650,000 dead, Gitmo "concentration camp", timetable, "redeployment", pull out now rhetoric has only served to impair our ability to win. It has encouraged our enemies, and made our allies and those who need our help question our commitment, thus further weakening the effort.

And if undermining and weaking our effort, while supporting and encouraging the enemy is not considered "wanting to lose", then I don't know what is.
