He is a changed man now. He has expunged his criminal record as best as he can.
He wants to join the armed services, any service that will take him.
He knows they will have access to his criminal record no matter if it is expunged. With 2 felonies (none violent) 1 possession of a weapon in jail facilities. 2 possession with intend to sell.
He has had no contact with police nor has he broken any law for the last 9 years.
I don't want to crap on his dream but I told him he is not going to have a chance.
If there is any body who seriously knows (like a recruiter) please let me know so I can tell him............he's screwed!! lol jk not funny but please let me know.

The strategy being pursued by the Bush administration is only a delay for getting out of Iraq; It is get out later or get out now. I am for getting out now and saving hundreds and thousands of lives including our own soldiers and billions more dollars. Then work on trying to rebuild or credibility in the world. The longer we stay the worse it will become..and its plenty bad now.

Furthermore, if our troops are to remain in Iraq for Middle East security reasons, should the United States also be paid by Iraq for the cost of such future presence in oil and also be given a right of first refusal at market rates on all future Iraqi oil production? As part of that process should Iraq and its oil production be partitioned among the Sunni, Shia, and Kurds with the Shia to govern themselves and Saudi Arabia as protector of the Sunni and the United States as protector of the Kurds with our troops based in the Kurd sector ready to respond where needed in the Middle East as well as to protect this partition? The deadline for this partition should be no more than 18 months and then US troop levels could probably be cut substantially under this scenario.

Going into Iraq was supported by most of Americans. The problem of not finding dirty weapons of mass destruction shouldn't have been the biggest story of the war. We needed to show the world that you can't mess with the United States and get away with it. Now that we've accomplished that mission, what is next? Do we need to stay until they're government is stable? Do we need to see that there will not be mass destruction of human life and civil war if we pull out? How do we accomplish our goals?

Will you be flown to the ship in the middle of the ocean? Will you work at the base until the ship gets back? And does the time left on the deployment matter? Like if there is 4 months left, they would fly you out, but with 3 weeks left, you would just wait at the base.
