does any one know if the government has a satellite in space that can be used as a weapon, such as a laser or ray?

As far as we know, there are no weapons in space (and since it is forbidden by international treaties, no government is going to admit they do have such a thing).
Thechnically speaking, it is however possible to have a couple of nuclear warheads up there (beam weapons are not practical yet).

sorry no go on that. Lasers require huge amounts of power that would be a huge satellite. Even when mounted in airplanes the laser needs the entire bulk of a 747 to mount it and power it. it is not practical for space where every pound is expensive. There are laser range finders and the like as these take very little power as they are none destructive. It should also be known there is a treaty that forbids the weaponizing of space especially WMD's like nukes. Look up Space treaty in wikipedia.

I'm sure of it. Why else would all those space ships be floating around? To find other planets???? Yeah right, believe that if you want.
