I thought by now his family or I would have received some information on where to write. If he didn't pass the physical fitness part, would they keep him from writing as punishment? I miss him.

Processign takes about 1 week, once they are in their permanent unit if he passes his preliminary Physical fitnes test, then they get the correct address for him to get mail sent to him and he is able to send you a letter from his "permanent" boot camp unit and you will be able to send him one too.

oh sweetie give it time. These boys and girls are put thru the mill at boot camp and there mail service is not the speediest either. These kids are up early and to bed late, they are worked so hard mentally an physically they don't know if they are coming or going. Its all part of making a good marine. The training he will get is going to make him a better person and may even save his life someday. So hang in there and be patient. You will love the new man when you see him next. When you do get letters love and cherish each and every one of them. He will write or call when he can. A lot of the time they get done with there day and shower and fall right to sleep that's how hard they are worked. It is not a picnic for them. Their com rads become their family and they can talk to each other for support about all subjects and yes you will be part of the conversation....he will tell them about the great girl he has waiting for him at home, will flash a picture, and all the guys will be jealous. And in turn they have their stories too. Give it time and be very proud to have a marine for your boyfriend. May God bless your Marine. Just hang in there. granny

They don't give the guys much time to sit down and write when they first take off. I was married to an Army man and when they sent him over seas, or over somewhere other than where we live, it would be 2-4 weeks before I got a letter from him. They are straight out busy till they get to their destination then they have to get set up first, then when they finally get down time, that is when the men and women get the moment to write a letter. Even when my ex went to boot camp, I didnt' get a letter from him until 5 weeks went by, because they keep them constantly busy, and after that, the men and women are so tired from training, they must get sleep. The don't get much of that either at boot camp. You'll get a letter I'm sure of it, just got to give him some time my dear, they really are keeping every new recruit as busy as possible training. They don't punish military personnell by not letting them write to their loved ones either. Hang in there, keep your eyes on the mailbox, and soon there will be a letter.

Marine Corps boot camp is what 12 weeks long, they are very busy. I got a call from my husband within a few days, only because we had a child and his Drill Instructor was being nice. It was about a 1 min phone call, and then it took a couple weeks to start getting letters. Once they started they rolled on in a few a week. You also have to take into consideration if he is big on writing or not, he may be so exhausted that he can't even find the strength to write. They spend their first couple days awake and then after that the minimum sleep time they have to give them is 2 hours, so give him time, you should hear from him soon. Good luck.

Most bootcamps are six weeks are longer and are extremely busy. He may not have time to write to anyone, until it's almost over. Don't fret. Every moment of his day is being controlled.
If he didn't pass the physical fitness part, you would have seen him back by now. It also depends where his bootcamp is at. They may have a policy of not letting any communications happen for awhile, for security reasons. Worse comes to worse, if you know where the recruiting office is that he signed up at, go there, one of the recruiters would be able to answer your questions.

Well, in the first couple of days, they will send a form letter out giving the address to send any letters to. Now, this will sometimes take a little while to be sent out.

Most likely the letter will go to his parents. It will probably come in the next couple of days. Once you get it, send as many letters as you can. There is nothing better than hearing your name called during mail call.

The DI's will monitor this, and will pull recruits aside if they notice that they never receive mail. But, if the recruit is fine, and doesn't care, they will not force him to write letters if he doesn't want to.

Give it time. Marine Corps bootcamp is long and he's just in the beginning stages right now. Things are hectic and it may take time for mail to get out. My husband wasn't receiving any mail when he was in bootcamp. It turned out to just be the mail, not that no one was writing him. Hang in there.

It could take a few weeks. Boot camp does not have very much free time allowed during the first several weeks. Besides, if you were to move from one address to another, it would take longer than ten days for the postal service to get your mail straightened out. He will write as soon as he gets a chance.

no this is not punishment. what is happening is he is filling out paperwork, being issued equipment and taking classes and being assigned a training unit. when i went into bootcamp i did not have a address or time to write to anyone untill about a week after i was there. what you should do is contact his recruiter and ask him if he is in a training platoon yet, he can probobly give you the fastest answer. good luck and hang in there.

Your boyfriend is extremely busy right now and doesn't need you worrying about a letter. You'll get one - be patient.

Your boyfriend will be sending a letter (most likely to his parents) that will let them know his address as well as company and battalion number. In the form letter, the recruit will fill in the blanks of his instructor(s) and the like.

Right now, he is very busy. I understand that you miss him, but this is all part of it. Be patient.

ten days is nothing. . heck, mine went the entire 9 weeks without writing a letter.

you are just going have to accept the fact that his time is very regimented right now, and he may not have the ability to write to you as mcuh as you would like. yes, they get some free time on Sundays.. but frankly, most of the time they use it to polish boots or work on stuff they are learning during the week.
