Military - January 2007

I can either get out of the Marine Corps altogether, or continue on as an officer (I am currently enlisted) after going to OCS. I have no desire to remain on the enlisted side, although it was a fun ride while it lasted. I don't really believe in what is going on in the world today politically, but I do not put any blame whatsoever on service men and women, as I feel that these issues stem from our elected officials.

My question is, should I become an officer who can use the knowledge he has gained as an enlisted man to better the Corps, or get out and cease to support a war I am not entirely in agreement with? I know that this should be a personal question that I should answer only after doing some soul-searching, but I would still like to get the opinions of others.

Do we uses photo ID records of individuals... take finger prints... or what?

I have never seen nor read any details about how our troops conduct their police investigations. It all seems so hit or miss. Does anyone have a clue? Has anyone ever seen or read anything about our data collecting methods over there?

I'm not criticizing... I'd just like to know.

- To vote and not protest. Come on thats what America is if you dont like it then vote. Is that too hard?

-Stop thinking about the death toll. It does not reflect off the war progress. If you want troops to live then dont let there morale down.

I got out of the navy a couple of years back and received a general discharge (under honorable conditions) with a re-entry code RE-4.
It was for misconduct. I know that you can't join the military again because of my code, but can I join the army national guard? I have heard that there are some people who've had the exact same type of discharge as me and managed to get into the guard with a waiver. Is this possible? If so, can I join the guard and go to officer candidate school? I just graduated college and I was thinking about going into the guard and go to officer candidate school.
